Well Tootsie and Luigi are spending this rainy day indoors with my sisters doxie, Wilbur. Normally Wilbur loves to roll around and play with Tootsie all day long. Well since Luigi has come to town, Wilbur is constantly nervous! He paces around the house with his tail between his legs running from the little nippy newcomer! Luigi just likes to play but those little razor sharp teeth don’t exact feel good! So I think Wilbur is just uneasy about having the lil pup ankle biting the whole time… I feel bad because he use to have so much fun with Tootsie! He has been pacing around the livingroom/kitchen since he arrived. He keeps jumping at the door like he wants to escape. Poor little fella! As much as I ADORE dachshunds, I don’t think I could handle another!!!! With the 3 of them in here today-I feel so overwhelmed ! I give major props to you out there with 3+…LOTS of work!!!!! How do you guys do it?!?!?!?!

Yorky here! It’s raining and raining from that dang hurricane Hanna and I don’t like it one bit. Mommy took me out to go potty this morning and I cried! How does she expect me to go potty when there is two inches of water on the ground. I thought I was gonna float away! Needless, to say, I did not go potty. But, no worries, I will find a nice warm dry spot behind the sofa when Mommy isn’t looking.( Tee-Hee!) Anyway, it serves Mommy right for making me go out in the rain. So, to all you doxie friends out there, stay dry! Love yorky

I’ve been fostering a rescue stray mix for about a month. I nicknamed him Freddie. After weeks of looking for someone to adopt him, I finally found a nice guy who’d love him to bits. He has 3 other dogs, has space and promised to take care of Freddie.

This morning we dropped Freddie off with the guy. It was heart wrenching to leave him with someone else, but I know I can’t keep all the strays and rescues that come my way. They seemed okay, but Freddie kept on looking at me when we were leaving and I kept wanting to run to him and get him back.

The sad part… I received a message from the guy. When he brought out Freddie for his walk, Freddie accidentally got away from his collar and ran away As much as I’d want to blame the guy, I know it was an accident. And as much as I know it was an accident, I can’t help but blame myself. Maybe I shouldn’t have let Freddie go. Maybe I should’ve adopted him out to someone else. Maybe I should’ve checked the stuff he bought for Freddie. Maybe I should’ve just kept him…

I feel so awful. I want to go back to the guy’s place/area to look for Freddie, but part of me says it won’t help.

Sigh.

I hope you guys are watching “Dogtown, saving the Michael Vick Dogs” tonight. It’s on right now 9-11pm.
It is a very heartbreaking, heartwarming, remarkable story of the love the folks at Best Friend’s Animal Sanctuary in Utah gave to these 22 pit bulls. A friend of mine helped rescue these dogs from Vick’s property in VA.

I rescued my first pit bull back in March that I blogged about and it will forever change my view of these dogs.
