hi, im new here, just discovered the site googling. we are a hunting bunch. we have 4 beagles, and 3 doxies have us. Ruger, red, short-haired tweeny,2 1/2 yr old male. Also, just got 10 week old sisters. Kimber, red, short-hair 5.5 lb & Cabela brown, short-hair 4.5 lb. I couldn’t choose, so i bought both, to my husbands surprise!! I drove 3 hours for my beautiful babies. I didn’t do any “traing” with Ruger, but would like to with my girls. So I will be reading furiously on your site. Thank you

We got Tyrone 3 weeks ago he was 11 weeks old and boy has our lives changed. We weren’t looking for a weiner dog it just happened. The place we went to see him was so dreadful I couldn’t imagine living in those conditions one way or another we had to take one home. He was so cheerful and loving wanting to play wasn’t even scared of us or kids, his brothers were very timid and nervious . So I believe we made a good choise taking him with such a wonderful personality. He brings a smile to our face all day long. He is doing really good with sitting and the potty training he has his occational accidents but getting better. He has chewed all the legs on the coffee table but crap happens. It’s so hard to be mad at him when he’s snuggling and givng so many sweet kisses. He is so spoiled with his specail food with no perservitives and his many many toys. He won’t be too happy with me this week though the vet is gonna give him some shots,microchip,clean ears,cut nails ya the whole nine yards ya, he won’t be pleased. Poor baby. Being that this is our first weiner what kinda things should we becareful of any advice would be greatly apreciated? He doesn’t like the leash and hates the harnise even more I hope this gets easier.

I found two lumps on the lower abdomen of Dee. Brought her to the vet and they said they’re mammary tumors

Since Dee’s already 11, the vets don’t want to operate unless absolutely necessary. They said the chances are 80-20 that’s the tumors are malignant (cancerous). [Tho I researched online and most sites say the chances are 50-50]. They really don’t want to put her under anesthesia, so they don’t recommend doing a biopsy either.

I really don’t know what to do

I’m tempted to go to another vet for a second opinion, but I’d really hate to drag Dee to the vet, she hates it there.

I just want to remind everyone with at least one adopted Doxie or Doxie-mix that they are welcome to join my Dachshund Adopters group on Dogster. (We even have some “honorary” Dachshunds in our ranks!) We are over 900 members strong now and it would be a good way for anyone involved in Doxie rescue to get the word out when an organization is having a fund raiser, someone is looking for help with a transport, or if you want some “experienced” help/advice for your adopted dog, etc.

ok how do i know if my little man is a dapple or a double dapple .. i was told that he was a blue and tan dapple .. but the more i read about doxis the more concerned i get that he may in fact be a double .. any advise .. thanks tytens mom..

Hewoooow!

This is Hershey-girl the new pupi!

I’ve been a WEEEAAALLY good girl since they brought me home.

Today, I did something bad and tried ripping up my wee wee pads. Daddy said “NO! Hershey NO!”

Don’t like that. Don’t like “NO!”. Dat’s not my name.

So I waited for daddy to leave the room and I quietly rushed to the wee wee pads and wrapped myself inside it until I was a burriiitoooo! YAY! SO MUCH FUN!

Then my hooomans saw me and were running to me saying “NO HERSHEY NO!!!!” They took my fun wee wee pads away. Awwww!

Tried my best to look reaally really sad and went back into my house.

Wasn’t really sad and maybe I’ll try that again tomorrow.

I have a very sweet little boy. Who is good with kids and other dogs. His marking are so pretty. I’m so in love with my 4 legged baby. I am thinking about weather or not to breed him or stud him to get another sweet baby. It will be a while he is only 7 months old . What do you guys think?
