More on Hannibal
Once more here is more news on Hannibal the Cannibal…I cannot stop feeling the relief of a lifetime at having him home , and it makes my heart fairly burst to see him wagging his tail and hopping up on the bed( which we have lowered to only matresses for his comfort until his staples are out) My fiance keenan slept on the couch last ngiht so that hannibal and i could have all the room we needed and could snuggle…he really needed a night with mommy snuggling him to let him actually know he was home and safe and no more pain was on the way.He slept well all night and has not vomited since he got home! He is taking his medicine and is doing well with drinking also…the only problem we still have is having to force him to eat his paste food, due to the fact that after he ate the ounce of beef yesterday , he decided he wasnt eating again….stubborn turkey..He is skin and bones , but annabel and brownie gave us a good tip for fattening him up , and as soon as we can get him to eat on his own on a regular basis , its cottage cheese time! I called the vet this morning and let her know he had eaten on his own ( spitefully but thats just him) and she went ballistic she was so happy…seems his vet decided he was one of her special little guys and loves him too! We are so happy and glad to have him home, and cant believe the difference in him..last week he wouldnt even walk , and this morning he actually chased the kitten! was only about four feet but he ran , and that as well as his first eating is a huge step….i will keep updating as things happen , and i feel so blessed to have all of you sharing this with me…it is AWESOME to not feel alone in a time of crisis and you all ROCK …God Bless …Huge Hugs and Puppy Smoochies….Hannibal and Rina

We are very pleased that Hannibal is starting to recover. We’ve been crossing paws since be became ill, and it does seem to have worked. Wow… the power of the dachshund!

Keep up the good work Hannibal! Guess the kitten is coming in handy- with first with the food and now with the chasing. The extra snuggling is really a great idea. It always makes me feel better and I’m sure it will do wonders for Hannibal!

I’m so glad to hear your little boy is doing better. My heart goes out to you, I know it’s been a stressful time for you. You and Hannibal need to both take it easy. Tell your fiance he needs to take extra good care of you both! Best wishes for y’all.
