You made my mom cry!
My mommy went to the mailbox yesterday , and she got a package from it that was for ME! Rusty sent me a TON of stuff to chew on and kill , and mommy saw the doxie card that came with it and started crying! I overheard her telling dad that she never knew there were still such awesome people in the world until she found THDB, and it was making her really emotional. I think shes only emotional cuz she had been really worried about me , and my human sister is going to have a baby any day now ( and shes only 17) and my mom is in school and is stressing out so much that she cries a lot lately. And with all that stress, she told dad that into the dark came a website that makes her feel able to cope and makes her feel like she has friends after all. Mommy hasnt felt like she has had any friends except her buddy denise in a long long time. She thought that because of her illnesses that she would never make friends , and that there werent any awesome people left in the world, See, one of her diseases is that she is allergic to sunlight, it makes her blister and get really sick to her tummy, and when the people in her town found out they started calling her the vampire lady. That hurts mommys feelings so bad that she only leaves the house twice a month sometimes, cuz she doesnt want people staring at her or thinking shes a vampire…..but now that she has found THDB she remembers that there are some people out there that are sent from God and that can care about even her!! Mommy told daddy that coming here to THDB makes her have a warm feeling inside her and makes her feel like she has found a home after all the stuff she has been through…and i agree with her! There is no other place in the world that the members would send things to brighten up a puppy’s day after only knowing him for a short time, and mommy cant stop thinking about how wonderful you all are! We love each and every one of you and we thank you for caring about us, it has meant more than you could ever imagine…..Love, Hannibal and Rina

Rina and Hanny….we are glad you are here and that you find our company soothing. Right now Chuck is very busy getting ready to take care of Kate and her new puppies, but often he is in need of cheering up too. He has had some difficut days coping with his feelings since he can not get around like he used to. The dachsies at THDB and their pet humans have helped him in ways he can not even begin to tell. So, do what we all do her…Pay it Forward.
Your good friends in FL Kurt, Kate, Kristof and Kira, (and soon to be puppies)…the DoxiePets, and their pet human, Chuck

We are very glad that you like us here at the HDB. The dachsies and their humans do try and make everyone welcome, whatever they are like, and whatever their problems. We are all bound together by the love of small, over long and stubborn little dogs….

Good Morning Rina and Hanny,
Hanny I am so glad that you are feeling better, I hope you enjoy killing your new toys.
Rina, there are some thoughtless people in this world - however you will not find any of them here. My youngest sister raises and trials border collies, she loves her dogs very much. This weekend I was talking with her and telling her some of the things happening on the HDB - her comment was “you dachsund people are really different”. I thought about that and I think she is right, as Harry said we are all bound together by our love of these wonderful little dogs. I think our dachshunds make us better people, they teach us so much. One thing I know for certain - we are all very happy that both of you, Rina and Hanny, have joined us.

I am sorry to hear that you have had these things said about you. And I’m sure plenty of us can relate to serious stress issues also. It is really nice to have an escape and people who you can talk to. We are all glad that Hanny is feeling better! Just know that you are Welcome here!

I’m so glad you and your mommy found this place. I had never known there were such wonderful people in the world either and I’m very lucky to have found my guy Rusty-the love of my life. My grandpa says Momma has dachshund brain ’cause it’s in almost everthing she does, but that’s what makes Momma and all of you dachshund hoomans so wonderful. Just remember that people who make comments that are hurtful do so out of ignorance, it’s unfortunate they don’t know better. You both take care!
Love your pals,
Roo and Deb
