We had some strange packages delivered on Friday when Mum was in bed,I barked at the Postie and was told to “be quiet” or words to that effect,I lay down and did what I was told like a good dachsie should.

When we got up later there were 2 packages on the door mat,Mum picked them up, we went through to the kitchen and she opened one and there was 2 pouches of dog food inside[Natures Menu] I got half a pouch in my dish and ate it all up,it was lovely.I heard Mum telling Gran later that it looked like it had already been chewed and spat out,I ate the other half for breakfast Saturday.Last night Mum opened the other package and it had little packs of dry food in it,she tried me on that alone but no way after that other stuff. After 1/2 an hour I got a bit of the new pouch stuff put in with the dried,I picked out some of the dried and put it on the kitchen floor,Mum muttered something under her breathe and left me to it. I took the dish to Mum when it was empty and she said I looked like Oliver Twist, who ever he is, asking for more. I had eaten everything including the bits on the kitchen floor,Mum said I was a very clever boy,she is now going to try and find out where she can get this Natures Menu from.
The dried samples were James Wellbeloved.

I know I shouldn’t tell tales but Gran was very angry with Penny, she had thrown one of her CUZ’s through the gate to the front garden, when no one came to retrieve it,she managed to get to the other side of the gate,we don’t know how because she isn’t exactly thin at the moment, she then tried to bury it in the newly dug border and dug up the crocuses in the process. Gran came looking for her thinking she was just round the side watching folk going by to see a dachsie with no Tan on her mussle, just mud, looking very guilty and mud all over the path with crocus bulbs mixed in,I can only imagine what my Gran said to her as she replanted the crocuses. So later Penny ended up in the bath, second time in a month, previously was just a routine bath. Penny was looking very sorry for herself when I got there but she soon cheered up with me to play with.

So that is the latest from Scouse Land [Liverpool]

PENNY SOUNDS LIKE YOU BETTER STAY OUT OF THAT FLOWER BED OR THE WILL WASH THE SKIN RIGHT OFF YOU.HAHAHA. NOT REALLY I’M JUST KIDDING BUT IT DOES MAKE MOMS AND GRANS VERY MAD WHEN YOU DO THAT.

What an interesting day. We don’t get to dig up bulbs here, we just get to dig up freshly placed plants. Oh, we have lots and lots of merigolds coming up from the seeds of the plants last winter. We wondered why Chuck let all of those flowers turn into pods and what happened when they broke. Now the entire area around the patio..you all know, the red mulch circle we love to play in..is filled with little bitty 2 leaved sproutlings. We think it will be great fun to run in the merigolds again!

Sounds like Penny and Hughie would make a great team…….

We’ve tried James Welbeloved, but we don’t much like it. We really LOVE Bakers though! Yummy. Especially the soft meaty lumps. Mum is SO mean that she refuses to buy us a sack of just the meaty lumps. Says we will get spoilt.

The great question is folks…… how on earth can you spoil a dachshund?

That doggie food you got sounds real nummy. Does the postie bring it to all dachsies or was this a special delivery? I can just see Penny all full of mud not knowing what to do next. I hope Grans wasn’t too mad. Sorry about the bath. Have a great day!

    Your pal,
    Roo

  5. Comment by RHODAP:

Mum sent for samples because she was at her wits end trying to find something I would reliably eat.
I have had no cheese for over a week because Mum says I need to eat my dog food first.Maybe as I have been good over the weekend I will start getting cheese again,if it’s not all been eaten.
Penny is coming for the day tomorrow and Mum is going to try and get some nice photos so she can frame one for Gran

    Bye

We love hearing of your exciting adventures Rhuari! Who can blame Penny for wanting to rescue her Cuz? We’re not certain about burrying it though because how can she play with it easily the next time?

I don’t know about the food - it does sound absolutely yummy but we’re on a diet around here since that mean old Dr. Wolff told mommy I was FAT!

keep telling us about your and Penny’s antics.

  8. Comment by Ruckus&Rowdie&Gracen:

Wow Rhuari! You are one lucky guy to get good food in the post like that. We are wondering what we have to do to make packages just show up that way. Too bad Penny! Sounds like she was having too much fun and Gran had to go and ruin it!
