Kristof visits Dr. Rick…Great physical
Hi everybody….Kristof here!
It seems like forever since I wrote all of you. I am sorry for my silence, but there has just been so much going on in DoxiePets Land the last forever that I have not tackled Daddy Chuck to take dictation for me. It is my fault!
I went to see Dr. Rick yesterday. I was a bit upset when Ms. Monica did not meet me at the door as usual. Where was she….where was my cookie she always has in her hand waiting for me? Instead I was met by Lisa. She told me that Ms. Monica was in the back unpacking boxes (boy did THAT sound familiar) and she offered me a cookie. I looked up at Daddy Chuck to make sure it was OK to take a cookie from this strange person, and he assured me that it would be fine. So I did….it tasted just like the ones that Ms. Monica gives me. They must bake them together! She and Daddy Chuck chatted for a few minutes and she gave me another cookie. I gobbled it down. I like this new lady in my life! She is SOOOOOoooooo easy. She petted me and told Daddy Chuck how handsome I am. As if he did not know!
Soon they took me into the exam room. I hate that steel table! It is so cold and sterile. I got weighed and I weigh exactly 11 lbs. Yipee! I am officially a mini dachshund at 1 3/4 years old! I got another cookie for being so trim. Now doesn’t it strike you as odd that they would give me a cookie because I am exactly the right weight? I would have chosen a carrot myself, but what the heck….Cookies taste so much better. They poked my butt with a couple of things and said I was normal. Now you know they were blowing smoke. Me? Normal? Brownie would be insulted! Dr. Rick came in and listened to my insides with that silly thingy he wears around his neck. What did he expect to hear? I am not a squeaky toy! But he smiled at Daddy Chuck and said, once again…NORMAL. (Sorry Brownie!) Now Dr. Rick gave me a cookie. I was beginning to like this trip until all of a sudden they stuck me with a needle and took blood out of my neck, and then stuck me with 3 more needles and put stuff in me. I did not give them the satisfaction of knowing how much it hurt. (Aren’t you proud of me Brownie?) Dr. Rick ran some loop thingy over me and said my chip was still in place and working fine. He reminded Daddy Chuck to change my address with the chip registering people and pronounced me in great health.
As we were going out there she was….my favorite hooman female of all time….MS. MONICA! And guess what she had for me! More Cookies! She even had a bag packed for me to take to the rest of the DoxiePets. She must have been talking to Kurt because she stapled the bag shut so I would not eat them all on the way home. As if I would! (I would in a heart beat and everybody knows it) After all, Cookies at Dr. Ricks don’t have any of those silly calorie thingies in them that hoomans are always talking about!
The adventure wasn’t quite over yet, though. Daddy Chuck took me to the PetSmart place and guess what they gave me! Yuppers, MORE COOKIES! (I wonder if those cookies have calories in them or if the only non caloric ones are from Dr. Rick!) I did not care. I ate them all up.
So when I got home Daddy Kurt smelled me all over. I think he was looking in all my pockets for his cookies. Silly fur daddy. Dachshunds don’t have pockets. Does he think I turned into a Kangaroo while I was gone. Daddy Chuck gave each of the DoxiePets one of Ms. Monica’s non-caloric cookies and everybody played. Except me. I slept. I was bushed!
That’s all for now. I wonder when Brownie is coming down. I heard Daddy Chuck talk with his hooman, Mommy Laura about them coming to the housewarming party. Dr. Rick and Ms. Monica are coming. I hope they bring cookies!
Love you all

Pleased to hear you passed your MOT for this year and are still officially a mini long dachsie.
I do wish our Vets was as nice as yours, they take plenty but only give nasty things back like Jabs and microchips, luckily the latter is a once only experience.
Mum is hoping to buy in our jabs soon to save a packet on the vet prices. We don’t have routine annual bloods over here so no need to go to the vets unless we are poorly.

Hey Kristof…. did you say ‘housewarming party’? Can I come????? If I pack myself up in the box I have found for Hughie…… then I could make it in time for the party, if I sent myself Express-Airmail. What do you think? Will you share a cookie (we call them biscuits over here) with me? I’ll even teach you to bark with an english accent!

Dear Kristof,
It is sooo great to hear from you! Momma & me sure have missed you! I’m so glad you are healthy! I told Momma that from now on I want to fly down to your vet, ’cause I don’t get cookies from mine. What’s up with that, huh?! That was so funny what you said about Daddy Kurt checking your pockets for cookies,
I sure wish we could come to your housewarming, what fun that would be! Enjoy the rest of those cookies and keep sharing with the rest of the gang!
Your pal,
Roo
