2007 HDB Dachshund Calendar Now Available!

Hi all,

We’re finished with the calendar! You can find it here:

2007 Hotdog Blog! Members Calendar

Cafepress is offering free shipping on orders of $50 or more, so stock up or surf around the cafepress family of shops for other goodies.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the creation of the 2nd annual Hotdog Blog! Members Calendar! I think this year’s calendar is an even greater achievement than last year! We had more than twice the number of dachshund pictures sumbitted (about 200!), many more members, and super fast work by Frankie & Lola’s dad to pull it all together!

Who would have thought we’d be starting a tradition???

This is definitely a highlight of the site!

I agree Todd. Not only is it going to be a tradition but I think this site will be here for a long time. You started an amazing place for us. Thank you so much.I cannot believe how much this site has grown with new members. The chat room is so much fun and so many of us are on at the same time.We really have a ball. And now people are slowly starting to set a date to meet members in person. Maybe we will have a HDB reunion in the near future.Well got to order my calendar.

Well said Todd. Thanks for all of your hard work on the site and the calendar.

One hint for everyone for next year: When you take pictures of your puppies, try to make the photo quality as high as possible. When I put the calendar together, the majority of the photos I used were not resized. (Some were trimmed, but most were not resized.) So if you see some really small photos on the calendar, it’s because the originals were small and it’s hard to blow them up without losing significant quality.

That said, thanks again to everyone for your submissions and to Brooke and Todd for all of their hard work. I think that Todd deserves a nap. :)

  3. Comment by Harry:

No problems with that. Todd can go and have a nap now…. Cleo is clever enough to look after the site on her own!!

    Great job well done.

I ordered mine early this morning and now notice they have gone up, I hope I get them at the earlier price.

    Woo Hoo. Mine is ordered

Cafepress was having a sale that ended last night. . so though we still had one naming error at that time, I went ahead and put the calendar up since the error only affected one picture. This way, anyone who was lucky enough to see the post late last night could get in under the wire on the sale before it ended.

In this situation, the timezone changes favored our friends across the pond!

I am glad something favoured us for a change.

Thank You for giving us the information on properly submitting the photos for next years calendar frankielola’s dad! Could you please tell us what we do to be able to resize the pictures??? I am not so good about puters to know exactly what we have to do to accomplish that! Any help with that would truly be appreciated! Thanks Again! Carm PS - I already ordered mine for this years!Yeah!!! Thanks to all for all the hard work!

  9. Comment by frankielola's dad:

The key to the photos is making sure that, when you take the photos with a digital camera, you’re using a decent file size. Most people have cameras that are 3.1 megapixel or above at this point. So long as the photos are taken at 3.1 megapixel, they’ll be plenty large. Don’t waste your time with pictures bigger than that (for the purposes of the calendar — you’ll need bigger files if you want to make poster-sized prints of your puppies). It takes up some space on your memory card, meaning you’ll have to transfer photos to your computer more often, but it will allow whomever puts the calendar together to have the most flexibility when placing photos on the page. If you have any other questions, fire away.
