So this morning I call the vet and am talking with the vet tech, with whom I get along with very well. I told her Leo had this lump, and we scheduled his appt for tomorrow morning. She asked which dog, and I said Leo, the one that was just in for his vaccinations, then it hit me:))))))) I said to the vet tech, I bet it was his rabies vacccine, and that is probably what it is. She said they now give certain vaccines in the same place all the time so when someone calls in, like I did today, they can say it’s probably the vaccine. I guess the rabies vaccine is the one that dogs will react to the most, if they react to vaccines, this is why they’ve decided to give it in the same spot on each dog. I think it’s a pretty good idea myself, this saves a lot of people bringing their dogs in for what really is a reaction to a vaccine. Obviously if it continues to grow, starts to really hurt him, or begins oozing, then he would go to the vet. This lump can take a couple of months to go away. Well I started off my morning good, but thanks everyone for your prayers and concern:)))))))

Maybe you should rub his leg a little extra, very softly and tell him what a brave boy he is! I know after a shot, it is a good idea to put something cool on it, mabye a little ice while you are holding him? (wrapped in a cloth, of course!) I am so happy that Leo is well. Baby him a little bit…little love goes a long way…on BOTH sides!
    stay happy and relieved!

I had a lump on my neck and mommy took me to the vet, who said it was from a injection i had a few weeks ago, he took a needle and pulled out some fluid, said it may take some months for it to go away, it is soft, not hard, i didn’t know that they gave rabies shots in the leg.Take care, Ace
