katies puppies

katie had two little girls yesterday both are red shorthairs one is lighter than her and one darker.the birth was a little crazy. the first puppy came breech ( feet first) and got stuck in the canal. after a couple of minutes with no progress and hard contractions I helped. broke open the sack and pulled the pup from the canal, the puppy had inhaled a signifigant amount of fluid which was exspelled with a few vigorous swings. her nose was bluish and her gums pale in the begining after some rubbing and another swing to get the rest of the fluid she pinked up and made a little squeek. that was the best sound in the world at that point!! today she is feeding well and looking good! Puppy two was also breech but went much smoother. Today she is still looking good. pics soon

   WHEW~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I started reading it with my hand to my mouth and finished with tears in my eyes and a deep sigh. I am sooo happy that everyone came out okay. You are one smart girl, it was just like reading something from “emergency vets”. Love to you and the pups and of course, to proud katie. Everything is great now and that is wonderful to hear!!!
