Daisy Litter
Well I write this at 1:30am Friday morning. Daisy started her labor around 8pm. At 12:19am Pup 1 was delivered. Unfortunately she did not make it. She was a beautiful gray & black dapple. At 12:38am Pup 2 was delivered. “Malibu” is a beautiful white male with light and carmel brown markings. At 12:55am Pup 3 was delivered. “Pansy” she is the spitting image of a Rottweiller. I wonder where Daisy has been? Pansy is jet black with brown boots, brown muzzle and a white chest marking. It is 1:34am and we are anxiously awaiting Pup 4…..I have to say this is not for everyone, and I have learned a good lesson from this. One I need a digital camera. Haha. This is not a “leisure” activity this is a very heart-wrenching experience. Well I am weary from crying and lack of sleep and still fearful for Pup 4. Well 1:47am ” ‘Tini” was delivered she is a dark gray dapple. Daisy is spent and so are we. Thank God its Over. And sad thing is the sire Jager is a red-blonde short hair…not a one look like him.

Congrats! Sorry one of your babies did not make it, though. But it sounds like a good litter. You are absolutely right about this not being for the faint hearted. It is a LOT of work. I’ve got news for you, Barbie….It is just beginning. I hope you stored up your sleep before the whelping, because your work as a breeder is just beginning!
Yes, get a digital camera! You can usually find some great deals on used ones on eBay. If you do not make photos right now this wonderful experience will be lost forever. Memories fade. I keep looking back at the photos of Kates first 2 litters and wondering how this one will turn out! Get that camera TODAY!

You can also get your photos from a regular camera put on a cd. Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc., etc., will do this so dont’ stress over the camera THAT much. Although the instant gratification of a digital camera!

Barb so sorry I was not in chat room when it started. I know a few of us were there when she started her labor. Wish we could have comforted you after the first one did not make it. That is sad but unfortunately happens. But I am so happy that the other 3 are here and doing fine. You all must be very tired and like Chuck said it is just the beginning. I have not had this experience yet but hope to in the future. I agree get the camera and take lots of pics because this is such a special time that you won’t want to forget. Plus we all want to see pix of the babies. Enjoy the pups and give Daisy and the pups a kiss for us.

Congratulations on the rest of the litter and am sorry to hear about the one that didn’t make it.
You also stated that Daisy was extremely tired, here’s just a FYI for you, I give my dams tums & Karo sryup every 2 hours when they deliver it boost their energy or you can give dyme which does the same thing. This was told to me by a country DR and it works.
As far as a camera well i got a brand new one from HP for $75.00 5 mega pixel got it on line at HP.
Get some rest and good luck with the litter and Daisy
