Very Lucky or Unlucky?

I was just in the kitchen at work making more coffee. I had just poured myself a cup, but decided to make more before I put my cream in it. I was standing at the sink when the flourescent light fixture (4 feet long) came crashing down right in front of the fridge just three feet away from me! There was a loud POP, FIZZ, CRASH! and the whole thing was on the floor. If I had been at the fridge getting my cream out… I’m still a bit shaky.

WOW! I would say blessed. Good luck cleaning up the broken glass - florescent fixtures have such fine glass in the bulbs.

Sounds like you had an angel on your shoulder!

So glad that no one was hurt. I agree with Laura and thank god none of the doxies were around. Guess you used up one of your nine lives.LOL That is if you were a cat. I think you should play with your doxies and let them give you kisses. THat will surely help you calm down.

That actually happened to me at work too, only the flourescent light fixture that fell out of the ceiling as I walked by grazed my shoulder and cut me! The cut was not bad, but if I had been walking about a foot more to the left, I would not be here typing this! Workplaces can be dangerous! Glad you are OK.

I think I do have a guardian angel looking out for me. I had just been thinking of my best friend who passed away almost 4 years ago from ovarian cancer. Her youngest was only two. I think she’s watching over me. I was going to post something in her memory later today.
I’ll be sure to play with my puppies as soon as I get home. That always takes the tension away.

The amazing thing was, none of the bulbs shattered! It flipped upside down, so the bulbs were on top. Now the bare wires hanging from the ceiling are another story. My boss better find the breaker for that and shut it off.

I am pleased to hear you were not hurt in this incident, I often think there is someone watching over me, I think mine is my youngest brother Neil who died at 29yrs old following a road accident which wasn’t his fault.
