I have a now 3 month old dachshund and we have been doing pritty well with potty training but when we got her she was younger then was stated and not in good health. we are on the road to recovery with a surgery planned in the near future. we have been taken her out with out a leash on because she was so young and sick she didn’t explore well now that she is getting better we have put a bell tied to a string to ring to let us know she has to go potty and has been doing good till she now rings to go out to play and runs quit fast for a mini. We are tring to train her on a leash but when we put her harness on her and the leash she looks at you so depressed and will NOT move. How can we get her to injoy the leash so we can go for walks and make potty time not so much arobics time for us???? Any help is welcome.
she is a wonder baby loves to cuddle she is our first mini dochshund
thank you
wendy

  1. Comment by RHUARI+CHASE:

You will need to encourage her to walk by holding a high value treat infront of her or throwing on the path in front and praise her lots when she gets it right.

Leave the harness on when she is in the house so she gets used to the feel of it but remove it if she is left alone so it doesn’t get caught on anything and you are not there to help.
