Searching For That Special Pup in NW Georgia

I’ve been lurking & swooning over your pups for awhile now & I am ready to find that special pup in NorthWest Georgia. I am dreaming of a mini red smooth (doesn’t matter boy or girl as long as it’s healthy). I have told my husband everything I know about teeny weenies (even the anal sac expressing part) & he says, “Please just find you one before you drive us both crazy!”

So please if you have a litter now or are expecting, & you are located north of Atlanta, please email me at jacketnest@copper.net.

Hi, I am not a breeder but am a dachshund maven. There is really only one piece of advice which is to NOT buy a dog from Keystone Kennels/Miniature Dachshunds of Georgia.

Perhaps there are breeder/bloggers who have just the pup you’re looking for!

    Good Luck!

The situation with Keystone is EXACTLY why I chose THDB to find a puppy. I can’t afford a CrisCross bred puppy (wouldn’t we all love to snuggle with one of those?!) but I also can’t afford (emotionally) to just pick one out at a puppy mill. All the dachs I ooh&ahh over on THDB are loved & cared for, and some even have babies! So I just hope for my sweetie to find me . . . I have a Bobo waiting for him/her.

Great advice Laura. I am sure there are some wonderful breeders on here that are more than willing to help you out. Good Luck on your search and please keep us posted.

So glad you are aware of the horrors of Keystone Kennel and have come to the hotdogblog to help find your special doxie puppy. Maybe if you are willing to drive a bit, there may be a member willing to meet you halfway with a puppy. It sounds like you will be a perfect loving Dachshund mom. I wish you luck in your search for your sweetie, and please post pictures when you have found one another.

I don’t know any breeders and I am not from Georgia. But there is a Dachshund Club of Metropolitan Atlanta. There might be meetings and events you could attend to learn about local breeders. Also try looking in dachshund.meetup.com. They list meetup groups in all the major cities in the U.S. If you can find a meetup group near where you live and get access to their forum, you might be able to locate a local breeder or find a puppy that someone needs to find a home for. Anyway, good luck!

May I suggest going Coffeebeankennel.com, I got my newest baby Kirby there and Eric is wonderful to work with, I met him here on the HDB. Best part the puppies are beautiful, and Kirby is very well adjusted, and was very easy to potty train. He’s a happy little guy. We’ve only had him 2 weeks tomorrow and he wasn’t had a potty accident since Sunday. They are located in Southwest VA, which is not to far from GA.
Good Luck on your search for a new pup.

Hi, I am from Georgia but I now live in Maryland. I have a litter of long hair reds coming in May. The only breeder I know of in Georgia is Garlin Kennels. If you would like to check out my website. It is www.doxieloversdacshunds.com
I mini Doxie is a wonderful pet. Good luck with your search and welcome to the Hot Dog Blog.

Thanks, everyone who replied to my request for a puppy in NW Georgia. We have found one!!! My husband was telling some buddies at work about my weenie-dog-blues & one of them just so happened to know someone with a litter of red smooths. We went to see them Saturday & get to bring her home in about 2 weeks (they are 6 weeks now). So I will be reading all I can about new puppies & doxie names over the next few long weeks. And doing a little shopping. Thanks again for all your support on THDB. I will post her picture as soon as I see her again.
