Good girl……?

When we first got Daisy, she did great going on puppy pads. At first, she wouldn’t poop on them, but that was when I only had a pad in the kitchen. I put one in the bedroom where she seemed like she wanted to go, and we don’t have a problem….usually. She did great for about 3 weeks, then she started peeing and pooping in front of the door everytime I leave, and occasionally pees on the couch or bed. I have noticed that a lot of the pee accidents is when we have company or she is excited. I live in an upstairs apartment and have had other doxies do great with just pads. Maybe this one wants to do the deed outside?

You could try training her to a litter box (like for a cat). Some bloggers have had that work very well for them.

Puddle pads have the scent of grass on them, so puppies have to be also taken outside on the grass to get the idea to go on the puddle pad when in the house. It seems she is going in the same place on the rug and bed beause her urine scent is there and she thinks that is the place to go. Try to get the urine scent out of the rug as best as you can, and keep placing her on the puddle pad when you think she has to go when she is in the house. Is she allowed the run of the house when you are not at home? If she is ont completely trained to go on the puddle pads yet, do not give her the run of the house. If you let her run around freely when you are at home, you need to keep a sharp eye on her and when you see she is about to go, either take her outside immediately, or if that is not possible, take her to the puddle pad.

They’re SLY and They’re Clever as Foxes!(and the best canine under the sun) Sounds to me like you are going to be making outside trips like it or not! Good luck!
