Thank you everyone
I would like to thank everyone here on the HDB for their kindness and support over the past few weeks. I know that it has helped me come to terms with Ridley’s last illness and his passing. He has been laid to rest next to Murphy in the ‘wildlife area’ in my sister’s garden.
The rest of the Gang are well, but I think that they miss Ridley. Harry and Hughie are growling at each other more, as the group dynamics have changed, but Heather remains Boss and will keep them under her paw for some while yet. It seems strange to have so few dachsies under my feet….. but it is far too early to think of increasing the family again. There are so few dachsies in need of a new home over here, that it could take a long time to find one.

We are all here to support you. I don’t know you personally, but I can only imagine the pain that you and your fur babies are going through right now. I’m sure they miss Ridley as much as you do. I’m sure you have many many fond memories of Ridley. Keep them close to your heart. Take it one day at a time. Ridley will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathy

I am pleased you were able to bury Ridley by his brother,they will be there together for you to visit if you wish to.
I know what you mean about so few rescue dachsies being available,would you consider a retired female from a breeder? I don’t mean immediately but when you are ready.

Jutta, I have come to know so many good people here on the HDB in just a short time myself. Its amazing how much support they offer for their friends. I wish you continued peace, and when you are ready, the new dog may just find you!! It seems to happen when your not looking.

Jutta, I know your heart is aching but if you just look a little harder, you will see Ridley there. Memories are left, good ones especially, and those are his gift to you. You were and ARE a very blessed lady, as are we for knowing you and knowing of your furkids antics, making all of us smile. But we are here for internet group hugs, also!
Feel better. ArrBee says you should have some cheese since that is what makes your “kids” happy.

It sounds like Ridley is buried in a beautiful place. I hope your sorrow passes quickly and you can remember Ridley with a smile on your face when thinking of the wonderful life you had together.

What a lovely resting place for Ridley and Murphy. I believe the wildlife area and surrounding trees will sound extra full from now

Jutta, we are so sorry to hear about poor little Rids! I know it must be terribly hard for you. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you and all your babies! Gods bless!
