Tomorrow is the last day of school!
For my kiddos, that is. I’m not real sure if I’m ready to be home 24-7 with a 7 year old and a nearly 6 year old, though. We live just around the corner from the elementary, so several times a week I walk the dachsies up to school to walk the kids home. Romy would bark outside the door to my sons kindergarten class. The kids could always hear him. I hope the weather stays dry enough tomorrow so that we can make one more walk to school before summer.
My youngest, Griffen , is just finishing kindergarten. He had the best teacher and this is her last year. She is retiring. My oldest had her last year. They don’t make them like her anymore. She has taught for 28 years and has kept it on the level. She is outstanding. The kids love her and she loves them. Grayson, the oldest, can still pull random information from his brain, that he learned from her over a year ago. My kids have both received a great foundation for their education. For time spent with Ms. Kivlin…our boys are surely blessed.
So, heres to all that have kids on the verge of being home all day, every day till late August and heres to all the teachers…they very well deserve their summer break too!

I don’t have any children myself, but my neighborhood is full of children. I don’t know that I’m ready for school to be done for the summer either, this just makes taking the boys outside that much harder, you know they must bark with children running wildly around:)))) Oh well I guess there’s worse things in life:) Bobbi

Mine are all grown, but they recall their kindergarden teacher quite well! With school out, it is going to be a mad house…I need to go to the hunting store and get myself a pair of heavy duty earplugs since ArrBee thinks he has to seriously and constantly bark at those who go down the street, and the kids will…all day long!! I am hoping I can survive the summer and be able to hear!
And you are right about teachers. They deserve a break, also! They do a heckava job!

Stacey,
Thank you for recognizing the boys’ teacher. My sister has been a teacher for over 10 years and my daughter and her BF are both Education majors. I’m thankful we have young people who are willing to join this most important profession!
For any of you who have school-age kids, please write a thank you note to their teachers. Trust me, it will be much appreciated!

My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Luthy and I was in her class 38 years ago. Thanks so much for sharing your news of the last day of school. I sort of miss those days with the WHOLE SUMMER stretched ahead of me and very little to HAVE to do. Too bad I didn’t have a dog back then!

It seems like it was only yesterday that my baby boy was taking the bus to kindergarten. And on June 13 he will be graduating from high school and then, it’s off to college. Enjoy these summer days with your little guys; it goes by in a blink!
P.S. His favorite teacher was his kindergarten teacher! He still talks about her!
