I miss my babies
Tags:No tags
Hi Everyone.
I am currently sunning myself in Spain on a work holiday. Im only away for 3 nights but it will be the longest i have spent away from the babies since i got Paolo nearly two years ago. Luckily the hotel has some computer/internet action so i am logging onto HDB to satisfy my doxie cravings. Anyone have any stories on how they managed to get through their first seperation? PS im particularly worried about Lily, Chris (the boyfriend) told me on the phone this morning that her wee snout was getting longer!!!??? And im missing it!

I have only been parted from Rhuari for one night when I went on a nurses reunion,he stayed with my Mum which at that time he was used to doing anyway,I rang her several times to check he was OK, he was under a year old at the time.
Keep looking at pics of your 3 in your album. At Lily’s age they change alot, just like human babies do.
Have a nice time in Spain

Whenever I have gone away, my lot have gone into kennels. They loved it there, and always gave me a hard time when I collected them. They were obviously annoyed with me and it would take a few days for them to forgive me. Who said dogs never bare a grudge?
Enjoy your few days away and enjoy the reunion even more!

The longest I have been away from ArrBee is 9 hours. That was torture enough! What’s gonna be even tougher is when Papa goes away for 4 days next wk and ArrBee will wonder why he isn’t coming thru the door at 4:42!
Lots of kisses are waiting for you back home! Have a safe trip!

Who’s watching them? Whenever I go away Maggie stays with my parents - who send me AMMR (AM Maggie Reports) and PMMR (PM Maggie Reports). They consist of a text message on her latest adventures and activities. They also send occational photos by phone . . . although, I don’t know if this is feasible in Spain. I also keep a few pics of Maggie in my wallet.
The other thing is that many stores in vacation areas are becoming wise to the fact that people are obsessed with their dogs, and it’s becoming easier to buy special treats and bones. I always get these for Maggie - it makes me feel less guilty for leaving her, and when she sees the goodies she forgets all about my absence.
Enjoy Spain!!!

Thanks everyone for your stories! The babies are with their dad. That makes me worried too..LOL Men! I havent done the kennel bit yet… All of our trips away post-dachshund have been with-dachshund! I am ashamed to admit it, but Chris was the one who insisted on a dachshund when we were first looking for a dog. I was thinking more along the Cavalier KC line at the time… HOW WRONG WAS I!!!?? Anyways so Chris is looking after them, and i really should trust him…He is a wonderful doxie daddy… but he is also a man!!! We will see how he fares when i return. My brother will no doubt check on him. Poor Chris, i am selling him short, we are in contact all day every day. Poor guy, dont think ive told him i miss him yet, its just HOws the babies doing???!! On the plus side, i am topping up on the tan, which is super. Iĺl be strutting in the park with the gang showcasing when i get home!

Spain sounds awesome, but I always vacation with my boy Baxter as I can’t bear to be without him for long. Luckily, I am able to bring him with me to the house I rent on the lake so he gets some fun in the sun too! I want to go back to Europe, but I have not gotten past the thinking about it stage as I can’t imagine leaving Baxter behind!
Have fun in Spain, and let us know how your happy reunion goes when you return.

No no stories here-I just tried to keep my mind off of my babies at home…no sense in worrying when you should be having a good time. We stayed at condos in miami and one of the residents there got in a elevator on the second day w/ a standard red and I bout started crying!!! Then after that I was allright…made for a long week tho and I couldnt wait to get home! They will be happy to see you just as you are happy to see them but they are fine Im sure. Enjoy your trip while you can!

i’m away from my babies every third day when i work 24 hours on shift (im a paramedic). im sure my boyfriend gets annoyed when i call him every couple of hours and ask what my babies are up to and not ask how he is. and i get soooo jealous when he gets to sleep in my big comfy bed with them and im up saying lives at 3 am. but the way they jump all over me and greet me at the door when i come home exhausted is worth every minute that im away. then i jump in the shower (smokey usually jumps in too, he loves showers) and we all cuddle (minus the boyfriend) until lunchtime. but enjoy your trip!! make sure to take home some gifts from spain for your babies!
