Big day at the fair!

Well, this weekend I took the girls, Molly and Cocoa Mindy, to the Alameda County Fair. My mom and dad came along as well. They had the anual wiener dog race and it was alot of fun for everybody. There were over one hundred dachshunds entered in the race and probably another hundred wieners just watching! When Molly’s heat started she just ran out the starting box, turned around, and ran to my mom. Cocoa Mindy crossed the finish line, but only because she was trying to play with the leader. It was so funny to watch all these pooches scurying about and all getting along. I expected to hear dogs just barking and barking, but thet were all so well behaved. It was so great to see all different sizes and colors and coats. There was one spectator, he was a standard red who wieghed 35lbs!!! He was fit too. I’ve never seen one that big in person. All the dogs were having a blast! After we were done racing we toured the fair for a while, normally dogs aren’t allowed, but that day the dachshunds ruled the place. People were so suprised to see all these little hounds roaming in and out of booths and exibits. Everyone wanted to pet and cuddle Cocoa Mindy because she a cute little long hair, so I insisted if they want to pet her, they had to give Molly attention too. She was feeling left out of the love. We went into the livstock area, witch we weren’t supposed too (I snuck them in), and harrased the rabbits for a minute, then we quickly left (no harm done). All and all, it was a fun day. I even let them share a corndog! By the time we got back to my grandmothers house, it was sleepy time. We are already planning for next year. The only downside was that my camera broke, at least my video camera was still working!

We bet that you had great fun. We are not sure about the racing… too much like ‘hard work’ for us! Lying in the sun is more like it!
Looks like the Dachsies TOTW …. or at least the Fair!

Momma should of showed up to the rabbit exhibit with a Judges Badge, a sharp knife, a crock pot and some carrots and onions, that would of really scared em silly.

did you get to ride the ferris wheel?
