HELP HELP HELP! OH MY!
Tags:No tags
I have doxie fever and I need HELP! I got McKayla on February 24th, 2006. McKenzie on March 23rd 2007. Kayla is a smooth haired wild boar and Kenzie is a smooth haired chocolate and tan dapple.
Currently I am looking for not only one more doxie but TWO! lol
I need help! I’m hopefully getting a chocolate and tan smooth haired boy and a long haired female probably a chocolate and tan I’ve been eyeing. Their 3 and 4 months respectively.
I guess the banners are true…. “Dachshunds you can’t have just one!”
But can I really have 4? haha YES!

Have you given up on the idea of breeding and decided to buy some instead to increase your numbers?
Good Luck with your search.

I totally understand. I started with one rescue about 6 years ago and I have gotten up to 6 now. I am constantly looking and can’t seem to stop. They are too cute!

We have 4 dogs, but only two are dachshunds. We also have a bunny. At one point there were 4 dogs and 3 bunnies. The boss started calling me Elly Mae.

You sound just like us! We already had a mixed dachshund and then we have one piebald dachshund that we have been content with for about a year. Now we got our next puppy on June 1st and another puppy coming tomorrow, June 27th. We love them all and can’t get enough of them!

lol i can’t pick which ones i want! its a terrible thing to ONLY pick ONE doxie at a time. Rhona, I am still going to breed… but first i’m going to see which one is the PERFECT one to breed. I love Kayla to death and shes perfect in EVERY way except those two little front bottom teeth… and it bothers me to NO extent! Kenzie however at 5 months looks EXTREMELY promising. Her teeth are coming in great and shes just the cutest little alligator/dachshund EVER!
Only time will tell.

My 2 cents….Not to rain on your parade, but remember that you need to be able to provide medically for these little ones and it DOES start to add up (not to mention flea prevention, heartguard, grooming supplies, food, toys, treats). Believe me, I know. I have three doxies, a yellow lab, and I’m a partner in a dachshund rescue. It gets VERY expensive, very quickly - especially as they get older. When your babies hit about three years of age, they’re going to start needing the occasional dental which can be pretty expensive. Just make sure you can really afford all those doxies. If money and time (to spend walking, training, and socializing) isn’t an issue, then go for it.
Kind regards,
