Rainy days and Webworms…Argh!
We have had the wettest spring that I can recall in a really long time. I shouldn’t gripe too much concidering we have been in a drought for the last couple of years. So, the yards are super green and it’s been unseasonably cool. It’s the last week of June and has only gotten to 96 and that was a couple or three weeks back. I do, however, have some plants that aren’t loving this all so much.

Then there is the infestation of webworms. Because of the rain and the cooler temps. We have a fruitless mulberry that has lost about 60% of it’s leaves. The organic way of keeping the little furries at bay would probably work, but the rain washes everything right off. Now they are after my crepe myrtles and pecans and this is just the first of three generations. Sigh….

I (sorta) long for a good old Texas summer so we can swim and dry out a bit! Just a bit of a rant…Thanks for letting me! Whew!

“Only gotten to 96″ ?!! I WISH!! We’ve had nothing but rain here too and the corral has only been dry for two days in total this year. Our evenings still go down to 6C and I have to wear a sweater or jacket every day. It doesn’t seem like summer will ever come!
At least I don’t have to water the lawn and pasture!

We have got very serious flooding from torrential rain over here in the UK at the moment,as usual when the rain starts if forgets to start.
Some folk don’t have flood insurance because that area has never had rain before.
