Miss Bellajeans litter
BellaJean started having her pups at 9pm on 7-03-07 she had a LONG HARD delivery and we lost 2 puppies. First born 9:37 red dapple boy 7 oz. , Second born 11:07 Red sable boy 6 oz., 3rd born 1:20 Red sable Girl 7 oz…….her 4th pup was an abnormally big puppy at 11 oz. and 8 inches long!…..he was also breech and bella was not able to completely deliver him. She was rushed to the emergency vet at 6am with the puppy still half delivered and stuck. The puppy was DOA. Bellajean had and x-ray and checkup, she is doing fine. Sometime in the night her only little girl died. Bella rolled her to me with her nose this morning, she was cold……I tried to revive her with no success. : ( I am absoluetly distraught over this litter…….Bella is an emotional trainwreck……she is depressed, anxious, and paranoid. She lays there and will show no emotion to affection, she frantically noses her puppies around checking on them. This is our first time with any difficulty with a litter. It’s horrible.

Aw, I am sorry for BellaJean’s loss! How tragic for all! She will be a good mama i am sure to the surviving ones!

i’m so sorry to hear of your losses and the difficulty. how heartbreaking.
bellajean will cheer up soon.. the poor girl.. i’m relieved to hear that she’s alright.

I’m very sorry to hear about the rough time ya’ll are having, it can’t be easy for you OR Bella. I wish I had some sage words of advice, but at the moment all I can muster is empathy. I’m sending prayers and all of the positivity I can your way, and most of all hugs.

BellaJean I feel sooo sad for you I lost a sister, but I did live,”pal” saved me…Thing will get better,trust a old coot like me.
The other 3 are sooo beautyfull makes me wish I was young again…Paws & prayers to the humands too… Buddy

We are so sorry that things have not been straightforward and that you lost some of the puppies. We are keeping paws crossed that the remaining puppies now do well. Big hugs to Miss BellaJean.

Sorry about the losses but Congrats on the other too.

thank you everyone for your comforting words. Bellajean is pulling out of her depression a little today. She wagged her tail a little, and she has been a wonderful mother to her 2 boys! They are healthy and have gained 3 oz. each in the past day.
