7wk mini doxie for sale

I have an black and tan mini doxie that I only had for a week and im selling. The reason is that our other doxie that is almost a year old does not get along with him. I hate to get rid of him but I dont want to see him get hurt and hes only 7wks and will find a good home. I paid $300 for him and I will accept $200. I’m located in Temperance,MI and sometimes in Whitehouse,OH. If anyone is interested please leave me a comment..

You need to give them time,not all dogs take to each other straight away,there are lots of threads on here with similar tales to yours and they have with patience been able to turn things around.
If you are serious about not wanting the pup then the breeder is the person you shuld be contacting,any reputable breeder would take the pup back rather than not know where it has gone to.
I hope you rethink this

I’m going to stick my neck out here and say that any breeder who sold a 6 wk old pup for $300 is probably not a breeder who would want to be buying the pup back. If you know what I mean.
Chad, you should really give your one year old a bit more time than just a week to adjust to the new pup. If you are serious about not wanting to get rid of him your best course of action is to work with the two dogs while you are around and keep them separate when you are not.
Mine all act a little snappy when a new one enters the fold but it isn’t long before they are all playing and having fun. Hope this helps! And if you still must get rid of him then I hope you are able to find him a good home!

I agree, if you really do not want to get rid of him, you need to give it more than one week to get to know each other. Also, any reputable breeder of Dashshunds would never let a puppy go from its mom before 8-9 weeks of age. Did you introduce them on neutral ground (not at your home)? This is the way to introduce a new dog into the pack. Since you are past that stage, keep them apart by a baby gate or keep the pupyy crated when you cannot supervise them together. And you need to keep a close eye on them when they are together as a larger dog can hurt a puppy, even unintentionally in play. A lot of members here have added puppies to their doxie packs with snippy and growing at first, then after a few weeks, all were best buddies. I would also suggest you try to find a book on introducing a new pup to an older dog if you can.

First of All, The Facts…
Under Michigan State Legislation Section 287.335a…No Dog OR Cat is to be sold under the age of 8 weeks. Now this is pointed towards Pet Shops, but I am not sure how a breeder would be any different. Might want to contact you local officials and discuss this matter in depth.
Second,
It could take months for the two dogs can peacefully co-habitat. Don’t be so quick to jump the gun and just get rid of the new pup. Give it time. Close supervision will be necessary until the pup is older and large enough to say “I live here too”.

I’m sorry you have decided to give up on this pup so soon. I agree that sometimes it takes more than a week for the two to bond. It almost sounds like you have “buyer’s regret”. I agree that you should either give the dogs more time to bond or return him to the breeder.

I also think you need to give it more time. My puppy is 7 1/2 months old, and she and my JRT just finally played together yesterday! It took him 4 months just to stop growling at her.
But it does take work and patience. if you aren’t able to do that, I hope you find that poor puppy a good home. You DO need to contact the breeder first, assuming you didn’t get it from a petstore. At that price I doubt you did, they never sell young puppies that cheaply.

I completely understand, I have a huge cat and it took 6 1/2 weeks before I could put them in the same room. When I brought the puppy home he weight less than 3 lbs and the cat wanted to eat him. So thought for sure that someone was going to have to leave. It was a pain to have to keep them separate but everyone told me too that they would adjust. They did and now they are buddies, I am really glad to gave it time. I know its not 2 dogs but my cat is 18lbs. When they first started wrestling around the cat would jump on him and you couldn’t even see the puppy underneath him. He is bigger than most small dogs.
