FOUR Visits to the Vet for PEPPER this Weekend!!!!
Well you guys know that Pepper didn’t bounce right back after his neuter….well, we went to the Vet FOUR times over the weekend.
First visit, Thursday morning, Pepper chewed his staples out!!!! I took him and they put in the staples and put a lampshade on his head….but the idiot in the back cut it too short. We got home and Saturday morning, he was opened up again!!! He pulled them out a second time.
We went back to the Vet and they put a softsided one on him…..well guess what?? He bent the thing and pulled them out again. Saturday morning we rushed back to the Vet and they put another lamp shade on him. We got home and I put him out on the deck and when I looked out on him, he was pulling another one out…..lampshade too short again!!!! We made the FOURTH trip Saturday around Noon and they put a really large one on him….he HATES it. I have to hand feed and water him and he can barely walk. This thing has to stay on for 10 days until the staples come out….he is miserable, but at least he can heal properly now.
He is really feeling better physically though. He tries to play even though he gets knocked down by the wall or doorway because of the collar.
Thanks for all the well wishes during his recovery…..now if only the next 8 days would fly by!!!!

Oh no, and I just asked bout him in the forum section…..Hopefully the time will fly by and all of you can finally get back to normal. Poor guy, he was determined to get those staples out.

Oh! I feel so bad for both you and Pepper. Four visits in three days with three being on a Saturday! I don’t remember if I saw it on your pics or not but can they wrap a bandage around him or do the staples need to be exposed for quicker healing? It sounds however that you may have it under control now.
I am glad he is starting to feel chipper again and pray that the next 8 days will go smoothly for both you and Pepper.

Poor you and Pepper! It has to be hard to watch him and hard on him for being confined. They can put a man on the moon, put a computer in a pen and what? no one has come up with a better closure for our babies. Boogers. Get well real soon, it’s only 7 1/2 days away!! (((HUGS)))

Poor Pepper. I hope the next 8 days are very uneventful for you. Those cones are no fun. Mica had to have one when she was spayed, it was hard to find one small enough!

I know those collars are a pain in the butt. I’ve never had any success with my boys keeping them on, and have been fortunate enough to not have had to use them. My vet uses inside stitches, so there isn’t anything tempting for the boys to latch onto. They might lick the site, but I’m right there to tell them no, and so far with the 3 I’ve gotten neutered it’s worked. I hope the next 8 days go by quickly:) One day you will look back on this and it won’t seem so bad:) Bobbi

Here’s hoping the next 8 days pass by quickly! I can’t imagine having to go through that. Maybe Pepper and Bella Mia should be boyfriend and girlfriend since they both seem to have a taste for surgical staples!

Oh Poor Pepper sweetie,,
Come to my house and I will put you in my bed and give you luvin’ so you can’t pull those ugle staples out!!!
