CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT??
After five years of being part time in nursing, I accepted a full time job as a social worker for DSS. I have come to the realization that I can’t be home enough to continue to train my little Oskar. He is our 6 month old soft wire haired doxie.
I would be willing to let him go to a loving furever home to someone on this blog. He is still intact, but I don’t have papers because I kinda got him out of a bad home too fast to ask for his papers. Please email me at medapatt@carolina.rr.com if you are interested. And please don’t slam me for “getting rid of” one of my beloved pets. I am just trying to do what is best for Oskar. He isn’t adjusting like my other three have.

Is Oskar a mini, tweenie, or standard? Where are you located? My heart goes out to you. I know this has to be a difficult decision.

Sweetie,
I am not slamming you for trying to place Oskar in a good home, for a 6 month old baby.. thank God you are doing that but what are you going to do with your three 20 week old Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies???? just wondering….
Take care and God bless,
Sharon

The Chessie puppies have already been rehomed. I already had homes lined up with coworkers when I picked them up after work. The last one was picked up last night at 10pm. They were just here temporary so they wouldn’t go to the pound. Plus the Chessies would have been outside dogs.
I am not going to advertise on any site or newspaper..just here on the blog. I am just feeling people out to see if it is a possibility to place him with someone here. If not, then I will keep him with us. I am still on the fence about this decision. My kids really don’t want me to find in another home….so yes, this is a very difficult decision.
He is a mini. Last vet visit he weighed 8 pounds. We are 30 minutes north of Charlotte, NC.

It’s always hard to make this kind of decision but in the end it is usually what’s best for the pup. It’s even harder ’cause Oskar is just so darn cute.
Hang in there, I am pretty sure someone from the Blog will want to snap him up pretty quick.
Glad to hear all the Chessies have nice new homes - good for you to save them from the pound.

I have someone from the Blog who lives about an hour away that is interested in Oskar. She has two longhaired doxies of her own. I will let y’all know.

Melody,
I am in Chesapeake Va and if you need me to, I can foster Oskar until we can find a forever home for him (I would probaby fall madly in love and keep him!). I admire you for coming on here and telling us of your difficult decision. I applaud your honesty and it is obvious you only want the best for Oskar.
Please PM me if I can help with whatever you need.

I am not that desperate to find in another home. If I have to do the foster thing, then I will just keep him. I don’t want him moved around you know? I love him, but he just cries and cries and won’t eat while I am gone.
THe others totally ajusted to me going back to work full time, but Oskar hasn’t and it worries me. He is 6 months old…will this get better?

I wish i could help! I live in Greensboro NC (which im sure is close) but right now my boy (miles) is as much as i can handle. (plus i kinda enjoy spoiling the heck out of him) but i’ll keep my ears open for a good home. I have a close friend of mine in mind, she’s already miles god mother, and I know she has thought about getting another baby.

I am so sorry for you. It takes alot to make that decision. I would love to have Oskar especially since I already have a soft wire, Otto, that I rescued a few years ago. However, I live in Washington state. Keep me posted. I would love to help.

I wish I was closer, Mr Pibb needs a buddy!!!

How long has this been going on? Is it possible that he just needs a little more time to adjust? I hate for you to give him up if that’s all it is… especially since you obviously love him very much. Keep me posted. I would love to help out!

Hello!
I sent you an email and a pm about Oskar. I am not sure if you didn’t get it, but I would like some more info on him if you do decide to place him. Just wanted to be sure that you got the message.
I wrote you as soon as you posted the message yesterday.
