HAPPY NEWS FOR MY OSKAR!!!!!
After a couple weeks of thoughtful consideration, I have decided to find a home for my Oskar. When I got Oskar in August, I had no intentions of going to work FT, but being a single parent, things happen and you have to adjust. I went back to work FT at Social Services in December and little Osky did not adjust. Pepper, Bella and Kipper (2, 1, and 3 years old) adjusted just fine, but Oskar quit eating and would cry all day long.
I felt so bad for him that I couldn’t be at home with him like I was before. He’s only 6 months old and it broke my heart to come to this decision. But after posting the blog this week about finding him a new home, I had 30+ emails offering to take him or just to help me. I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the words of support and encouragement!!!!
Now to the good news…I found a wonderful home for Oskar. This person is a member here and only lives about an hour from me. I spoke with her on the phone and emailed several times and last night, I placed Oskar in a new, loving home!!! I cried the whole drive home, but I know in my heart that I made the right decision for Oskar. She has two red LH’s and she called me this morning and thanked me for giving her such a gift….it made me cry. Thank you (you know who you are) for easing my mind and giving my Oskar such a wonderful new beginning. He deserves the time that you can give him.
I have never, ever given away a pet, so this was especially difficult. I just wanted to say a public thank you to everyone who offered their help and especially to the woman that took my baby!!!!!

I know how difficult this is for you and you have been VERY brave and you have done the right thing. Good job!!!
I work for Social Services and am also single, so I know how hard the long days away are on our dogs. My two have adjusted, but Faith always cries for a minute when I get home at night. When I first moved to my new home, I paid someone local to walk them midday, while they got used to me not being home at lunch. But you can’t keep that up forever on a social worker’s salary! You did the right thing for Oskar and he will always appreciate you for it.

Hi,
If Oskar is only 6 month old now, how old was he when you got him? Maybe he left his mum to early.
