Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I’m so mad. Bandy could have died!
Today, Bandit came into the house with a half of peanut shell in his mouth. Don thought it could possibly be a poisoned peanut meant for moles so he called our veterinarian’s office to find out what to do. The office told us to bring him in as soon as possible. Don then asked if we could bring him in but pay them on Thursday (we’s short on cash right now) when he gets paid. They put him on hold to ask the doctor and then came back with some lame excuse that they haven’t seen those kind of peanuts in years and to give him a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to make him throw up and if that doesn’t work give him a tablespoon more. What the heck? As much money as we’ve paid that man in the past years, he does overcharge, and he won’t see my dog in an life threatening emergency. Well, he won’t be seeing Bandit or any of our pets again, period - I’m looking for a veterinarian that actually cares about his patients.
Note: Bandit did throw up after one dose and there were no signs he ate the peanut. There were also no symptoms of strychnine/zinc phosphide poisoning. I can’t help to think though … what if?

well it sounds as though Bandit will be ok atleast!!
This is hapening more and more.We have had the same thing happen about 5 years ago.The Vets were supposed to send away a blood sample. We were worriied sick because we thought our Dog was going to die. After a week I called the Vets to see if they had the results of the blood work?
They said..”Oh we didnt send it to get tested because you still have a 40 dollar bill here”
This bill was about 2 weeks old!!
Sad to say that some Vets will let your pets die if you havent got the money upfront!!

Thats so silly. I hate that, I mean, we pay as much for our dogs health(if not more) then our own. That was really wrong. I mean, If I get sick, Ill survive, but if my Pibby gets sick….he has to go to the vet, no matter what. I am very glad bandit is ok. Tell him”no more peanuts…”
