Today is my third anniversary here on the HDB.

Its been a long time….. I would like to thank all bloggers for seeing me through difficult times…. the loss of Murphy, who is still very much in my heart,and of poor little Ridley, who found most aspects of life difficult to understand. Above all, without my friends here, I would have found my recent bereavement much more difficult to bear.

There have been good times too….. the encouragement to take Anton and Otto into the family, the excellent advice given which enabled me to nurse Heather back to health after her stroke and above all, the friendship offered by many here on the site. This friendship has been wonderful, and so supportive, that I really feel part of an extended family. So much so, that this June I shall be crossing the pond and meeting some of you in person; this is something I could never have done without you all.

The person I would like to thank most of all is Todd. Without him, there would be no HDB. Without him I would never have ‘met’ you lovely people to share my love of these funny little dogs with. Whatever issues there are with the HDB at present, I really do appreciate all his hard work over the years. It is sad that circumstances have resulted in the problems that the HDB is currently having, as a result of the actions of just a few. In the early days, when there were only a few of us, things were different….. we had fun. Life revolved around the most important ‘people’ in our lives…. the dachshunds and there was no discord…. ever. I really hope that things can be resolved; I am sure that you will all agree that it would be a pity to lose the HDB now. Maybe we do need to start afresh. I place my trust in Todd, and think that whatever he decides, he will make to correct decision.

So…. a toast to Harry’s three years….. Prosit!
