THDB Is Back to Take Over The World!
Thanks to everyone who contacted us over the last few days since the site has been down to express their enthusiastic support for the site. We have to apologize for leaving you all in the lurch and without your favorite dachshund outlet!
Turns out, dad was up late last Tuesday night dealing with cleaning house (i.e., the site) and he inadvertently introduced a database error while doing so. Sadly, we didn’t have time to investigate the issue and fix it for him until this morning because he was traveling for work Wednesday through Friday and took us to our favorite day care and sleep over place, called “Coco and Toto” here in NYC until late last night.
Anyway, I hopped on this morning and figured it all out and we should be back up and running with no problem now. That said, when my dad first saw that the site went down, he thought that maybe we were hacked. Apparently there has been a lot of nastiness from some members here over the last couple of months, so he thought anything was possible. He keeps us pretty well insulated from all of this stuff, but given how some of these people will stop at nothing to destroy other members, why wouldn’t they try to destroy the site itself?
Well, we were all happy to discover that in fact it was his error and not some malicious attack. That said, my dad said that he thinks the last few days may have given the site an opportunity to wash out the filth that has accumulated and to be free of the troublemakers who have been acting maliciously and unethically towards other members. Obviously, we can’t share some of the things that these people have and are doing. I would caution everyone on any website that people online are not always what they seem. I mean look at me? You think I’m a cute little mini-dachshund but maybe I’m a vicious pit bull trying to ensnare you into some twisted game I have going. . But I digress.
Well, we hope our dad is right and that some of the muck won’t creep back. Anyway, we encourage everyone who wants to again make THDB the most friendly and fun place for dachshund lovers on the web to return and get back to the business of:
Spreading Dachshund Love To The Masses.
Max and I will be looking to your support in making this a more positive place. And, we’ll be around a lot more to make sure it happens.
Our dad says that he especially encourages those members who are not sure that they can join us in this mission, to remain off the site and not return. He’s actually kind of PO’ed about what’s been happening, and told us that anyone who comes to the site to inflame, bait, or otherwise be nasty, will be ejected without a moments hesitation or explanation. It’s all part of his Iron Paw Initiative or something.

I am so glad THDB is back I have missed it and my friends here terribly. Thanks Todd, Max and Cleo. I so hope this site be what it was when I joined a year ago, fun and encouraging.

If there are any more nasty, snide remarks…… I will set Hughie lose on the perpetrators…… and I can assure you they won’t like that!!

Whew! You’re back! Every morning when I have my coffee, I snuggle with my doxie on my lap and check out hotdog blog. I really missed it!

Thank you Todd for getting this site back on track to being the best part of my day! I am looking forward to things being fun loving again. I just can’t imagine not having the blog around. Thank you for bringing the blog back. We really missed it, too. And Harry, setting Hughie on blog nasties is a great idea. Sure scares all the meanness out of me…lol!
