Daisy Mae has one more day until she is FREE!!!!
It’s hard to believe she has been home and confined for 6 weeks already. I remember the moment that our wonderful vet gave me “THE” look.
Surgery.
The thought of it almost made me vomit.
You’d have to understand the story. Our first love, a smooth dachshund named Amos, lost his life at that very same surgery center. Now this was almost 8 years ago and so much has changed. We told the surgeon, and he was so sympathetic.
So, a c scan and an hour later surgery it was!
Not one but two blown disk’s! We never even knew.
I will post more on her surgery and recovery.
For this time though I just wanted to express how excited we are at her progress and at her upcoming freedom!
She has been walking each day and laying at my feet. She has been sleeping with us for a week (that started when I got the flu.)
We will be taking a travel day tomorrow to a meetup for our chihuahua group. Nugget and Daisy are honachi’s and will also be attending.
How could they not with all of the support and love that group gave us during this 7 week of emotional roller coasters!!
Yup.
One more day.
My sweet and wonderfully spunky Daisy Mae!

She looks so sweet & loved. Her ears are like “dog-ear” “pony-tails” (now we know why people call those human hairstyles that). SO adorable! Janey has been in season & her restrictions/confinement was bad enough, I really feel for you & Daisy Mae & your MUCH more difficult situation. Now she knows just how much she is loved, though.

Wendy,
I can feel for you and I know how emotional it is. Our Daisy had back surgery in 2005 and has never regained the ability to walk as she once did. We are just proud she is able to get around at all! I will never forget how many tears were shed during that time. Please remember you, Daisy Mae and your family are in my prayers. She is such a pretty doxie girl!!
Sincerely,
Nina
