Taking Jack in for his shots this morning and want to pre-dose him with Benadryl. I have the children’s tablets. Anyone know how much to give him? Thanks!

Your vet can give your pup an injection of diphenhydramine just before the vaccination. I give my adult ( one is 6.3 pounds, the other is 10.5 pounds) 1/2 of a 25 mg tablet.

I also continue giving them the same amount every 6 hours for about 24 hours after the vaccination. Consult with your vet first!!! I never have themget more than one vaccine at a time. I wait about 2 weeks between the vaccines.

You can give him a half of tablet. I use the liquid and give 1/2 cc. Ask your vet to give him the shot without Lepto. It is the Lepto that causes most of the allergic reactions in doxie pups.

How did Jack do at the vet?
