This avocado thing has me very confused. I am practically surrounded by avocado groves and I know many people whose dogs have eaten avocados for YEARS. The dogs get fat and incredibly shiny coats.
Thanks Melody. Me too, Brandy. In fact there is a dog food called Avo Derm that is supposed to contain Avocados and is good for their coat and skin. Hm-m-m.
The ASPCA also operates the 24/7 Poison Control Service. It is staffed by 30 Vets with credentials in Toxins. If you go to the web site they will send you a refrigerator magnet with the phone number on it.

I believe that the toxic part of avocadoes might be the pit. I’ll look into it further. I can imagine they get very shiny coats from eating it!
Thanks for the list Melody!
