I have 2 and they eat twice a day and have their own dishes. Like Peggy, I feed either Royal Canin or Eukanuba dachshund formula with green beans. And clears the dish in about 15 seconds-I swaer she doesn't chew. Smokey takes longer and chews and walks away and chews. But he has learned not to walk too far or Anna will be right there and finish it off.

I have 8...all have separate dishes...I have 2 that I must crate at feeding time, the others go to their respective spots & wait for their bowls. I don't let them come back & forth to their bowls consistently, either...if the interest is gone, they wait til next time. Seldom does that ever happen. :)

I have 3 doxies and they all eat in the same room from 3 seperate bowls. I place each bowl along a different wall in my kitchen and they each know where their bowl is. I feed mine twice a day (morning and evening) and they know when their food is out to eat and they do. Another idea and what I do sometimes is put each dog's food bowl in their crate with them and let them out of their crate after they are done eating.

I definately think separate dishes work! If you don´t have enough rooms as you say, for separate feeding try feeding the overweight doxies first in another room. After them, the other two, in separate dishes. That way, you don´t need four rooms! And remember, fat doxies are prone to back problems, and that´s got to be terrible!Good luck.

I have three doxies and they each have their own bowl. They eat once a day - at 5:00 p.m. and believe me, they know when it is 4:55.... they start bugging me.

I feed them Royal Canin Dachshund formula and add string beans for bulk. They get about one cup total apiece. I place their bowls in separate places and I don't have a problem with them eating the others.

I think you are going to have to start feeding them separately. That way you can monitor exactly how much each of them gets.

Good Luck. It realy isn't that difficult once you get the hang of it.

I don't have multiple doxies, but I have read that you need to make sure they each have their own bowl for feeding and if they are eating others food, you will need to either feed them in separate rooms or supervise feeding time.

It is important that they each get the amount of food they need and according to their weight, and no more.

If some are over feeding off others food dishes, then others are most likely going without or with little.

Sorry to say, but if you are going to have more than one dog, you have to take the time and effort to make sure they get only their food.

Hi there. I had similar problems and my solution was to feed them in the evening as that's when they ate anyway and I would put each dogs food in a seperate bowl. I would leave the food out for about ten minutes. The first night they ate a little thinking it would be there when they wanted it. Then after ten or so minutes I would take the food away. And repeat again the second night, by night I should say it was more like 5ish. Well the second night they gobbled all their food up and from then on they ate at meal time. The first few nights it took a little to keep them from going from bowl to bowl, but a little persitance and they got it. Hope this helps!!
