We are planning ours for the Fall. What you want to do RIGHT AWAY, is to try to find a sponser company like Purina... They will want a written proposal and all the costs, so include things like rental of the show property, insurance, rental of fences / bleachers... advertising, prizes, decorations, refreshments for the humans... We are going to try to do ours on 10/4/08 - that is St. Francis of Assisi Day and we will be doing a Blessing of the Animals along with the fun stuff. You could also do the serious dog show too if that is what you wanted but if you have some silly contests then others might be more inclined to go and enter.
