Puppy mills report 4/4/08 on Oprah

On today’s Oprah program, Lisa Ling will be presenting a report on puppy mills. You can read a summary on www.oprah.com.

I’m hoping Oprah’s tremendous star power and influence can raise public awareness about the horrible conditions suffered by so many of our four-legged friends. It just breaks my heart.

I set my TV to tune in when it starts! I watched the little preview and OMG I started crying just with the little bit she gave us. The audience crying really got to me. This is FINALLY going to be speard out like it should!! AWARENESS and EDUCATION its all we can hope for. Lets hope it brings them ALL down!! Thanks for the reminder, with my schedule i would have forgotten!! I just hope all her viewers watch today and spread the word. I am also going to send Oprah an email thanking her for doing this!

Wow! Go Oprah! We all know Oprah is very influentual and maybe getting the word oout there like this is the hope we have all been looking for! I am definatley going to record and make everyone I know try to watch as well. It’s very sad to see all of the people break down, but after knowing what goes on in those places how could anyone not?!?!?! I’ll be praying for all of the wonderful animals out there who will never get the understand the joys of owning a hooman like us here on the HDB.

I watched the preview and cried…so I don’t think I can watch this. Being a small time rescuer for 15 years now, I know all too well what they’re gonna show and I don’t think I can see it right now!!

However, I am so glad she is bringing attention to this.

The dang bad weather news reports blocked this program from showing!!!!! I hate I missed it!!!!!!!!

In many markets O repeats at midnight or sooner.
I am not sure I can watch this. O just lost her precious Sophie so I am sure this will be doubly hard for her. Hard anytime.
I hope they talk about what we can do to stop all this. You probably saw here in Arizona we had 800 Chihuahuas in a triple wide with elderly owners. They apparently fell into a hoarding problem and were unable to let any dogs go. Someone finally reported them. Only the horrible thing is they had been inspected 3+ times and because the dogs had food and water they passed. The people never answered the door - those dogs were outside. It is insane. Paris were are you now?? This would be a chance for her do do something good.

We just got done watching. I think I cried the entire time. I am just so happy that FINALLY we got some REAL coverage on this subject!!!! I just held my babies and cried. The part about euthanasia in shelters just about got me. Hearing Oprah say that she will rescue pets from now on made me literally cheer!! So many people listen to her and do what she says. I hope she reached many people today. I am really proud of her and her staff to take this on!!

I watched the Oprah program with my two babies and cried many times. The thoughtless actions of humans astounds me. The euthanasia segment really got to me. I didn’t want to watch it, but I forced myself to do it. Excellent program. Oprah does it again!

  9. Comment by Kayla:
