I have to say. Dachshunds are about the most curious little things I have heard about. After having my coward dog for 8 years, you get sucked into this mentality that all dogs are like your dog. Its sad but it happened to me. But Odus changed that completely. I took him for his first walk today (No grass though, didn’t want him getting sick or catching something). Well he did so much better than I thought he would. He took to it like a champ. He hardly sat down and didn’t get stubborn. He just walked next to me, full of joy! After about 30 minutes of walking he took an hour nap outside of starbucks while I enjoyed my fatty coffee And once I got home he was hyper again so I thought “Maybe I’ll have more success on the treadmill with him than my other dog”. Well it worked! It took no food or toys at all. All i had to do was sit in front of the tread mill and he wanted to get to me so bad that he actually walked on it! I was in so much shock that I scooped him up and gave him extra cuddles and kisses! What a day. Its really amazing how much a small pup could teach you.
