Earth Day 2008
Happy Earth Day! Everyone should be aware and concerned about the environment and the planet we live on. Here are some tips…
Have a Green Dog:
1. Buy dog toys that are made from recycled products or are recyclable.
2. Use biodegradable bags for cleaning up after us dogs.
3. Use biodegradable puppy pads for those who need to use pads. Hartz makes some great biodegradable pads that are better than regular pads.
10 Ways to be green for Hoomans:
1. Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle.
2. Stop paper bills and switch to online statements to save paper.
3. Carpool - also saves you gas money.
4. Turn off lights you don’t really need and unnecessary air conditioning or heating - save money on electricity bills.
5. Buy locally grown produce at your local farmer’s market.
6. Take showers instead of baths.
7. Plant as many trees and flowers as you can - makes your yard look pretty.
8. Put your food scraps in with the yard waste.
9. Donate old clothes, toys, and furniture instead of throwing them away.
10. If buying new appliances, buy ones marked with “energy saver”.
Thanks for reading! Be green in 2008.

Hi Nina….I am Nina, too! It’s nice to meet you! There aren’t many of us around so it is always exciting to meet another Nina. How do you pronounce yours: Long i sound or long e sound? Mine is long i sound.

All are good hints! You can get great biodegradable poop bags from a company called Dunwoody Booth. I ordered them online and they are thick and nice sized so my hands NEVER get poopy.
Also, I am redecorating and have decided to do it as “green” as possible by finding gently used furniture on Craig’s List. You can also find great stuff on Freecycle as well.
You wouldn’t BELIEVE the great stuff that people are ready to sell or even GIVE away at great prices.
