We all met this new friend a few days ago but then Mean Mommy got busy at work and then ended up with a nasty case of food poisoning (why did she eat whatever she did if she knew it was going to poison her?) so it’s only several days later that We can tell you about our new buddy.

Last Thursday Mean Mommy let us out into the yard a bit earlier than usual and as she was picking up the notes from our “business meeting” she noticed a woman walking toward the compound. Silly mommy thought that she was either walking a ferret or a dachsund puppy on a leash. LUCKY for us, it turned out to be a dachshund puppy!!!!!

Our new friend is Belvedere - a 4 month old mini silver dapple! He already has his mommy well in his paw and let me tell you there’s no question why. He’s a real wonderful weenie!

Mr. Belevedere’s mommy is Raquel and she came over to see us because she has seen and heard The Doxhoonts and had a ton of questions for us. Raquel has had doggies before but a yellow lab and she said that she KNOWS a dachshund is VERY different than a lab!

Well needless to say, Freddie and Belvedere got along like peas and carrots! They wrassled, rolled, chased, and rough housed for an HOUR and a HALF without stopping! We kept waiting for them to get tired but they really didn’t!

As an added bonus, Brownie and Annabel were able to enjoy the afternoon just sitting and munching sticks and watching the world go by WITHOUT having Freddie attack them every 5 minutes!

I was only able to get a few photos of Freddie and Mr. Belvedere but we are pretty sure they will be a permanent addition to our play group. I also told Raquel about the Hotdog Blog and she was planning on joining for advice and answers to her many questions.

So here are they boys going at it! As you can see, Freddie has really met his match!
