I am posting this here because Melody is unable to for some reason.
Pepper & Bella’s mom Melody posted a prayer request in the forums. Her adorable young son has a mystery illness that has driven up his temperature and the doctors can’t figure out why.
Here’s a link to her forum post just in case it gets bumped off the main menu.

Thank you for posting this in the blogs Laura because I did not see Melody’s forum post.

For some reason I have to have every blog approved because I made a slight change in my username??
Anyway, thank you Laura for doing this..I know God hears our prayers and he answers them. As a mom, I worry over every little thing since we went through so much when Evan was born…..he is my little “surprise miracle”.
Thank you!!!

I posted this in the forum as well..
Thank you all so much!
Evan only weighs 30 pounds…he’s tall but so little. He had major issues when he was born. He looked perfectly normal, but didn’t sit unassisted until he was 10 months old. He refused to bear weight on his legs and didn’t walk until almost TWO! We had to do physical therapy from age 1 until almost 3 to strengthen his muscles because he had extremely low muscle tone. They did MRI’s and bone scans and nothing conclusive showed up.
We thought he had a genetic disorder, and saw so many docs at Brenner Children’s Hospital at Baptist, We even had a Geneticist from Egypt that specialized in certain things come over to see him…The docs still say that something is going on, but he’s making so much progress. They’ve ruled out Autism, thank God, but he is behind all the other 4 year olds at school.
He is my surprise as I said. I didn’t expect him and the first two years of his little life were difficult being alone. I have two other children from my previous marriage and Evan was a result from a long relationship that I had after my divorce….so it’s especially hard doing this alone.
It’s always scary when they run such a high fever…you always fear seizures. He is sleeping away right now and I am making a place on the floor to sleep beside his bed.
I just wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. You may take this blog for granted, but I spend a lot of time alone with my children and the friends that I have made here and the laughs I have had over the years has really made some of the difficult times a little more bearable.

Melody,
Please know that you and Evan will be in our prayers everyday. I work with some terrific priest and will request that they include you and Evan in their prayers as well. Hope this is just a bump in the road for you guys.

Our prayers will go up for you and little Evan also! A sick child always makes one feel so helpless..you want to take away the pain but can’t always.

Melody,
I haven’t been on the blog in a while. I am so sorry about Evan. My husband and I have his, mine and ours (two adopted). We have gone through a lot with this blended family, so I know what it’s like to have a wounded little one. I pray that God will be with Evan, holding him in His embrace until he’s all better.
God bless,
Lyn
