Help!?!

Back in December My dog Penni had six healthy puppies. Everyone was fine and when i took her to the vet the Penni got a good bill of health. But i am now becoming concerned, recently i have noticed that her stomach has turned to a blackish color. At first this was occurred around her nipples and i assumed that it was bruising from her breastfeeding but now that has spead to her whole belly. Is this normal? Does this happen to dogs after they give birth or is this something that i really need to be worried about?

Please help, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Mia’s did the same thing. It isn’t bruising and doesn’t hurt them..Mia at least. It is dry, dry skin and it covered her whole belly. A couple months after her puppies were gone it started “peeling” away. My vet says it’s normal and i trust her. Nothing serious to worry about.

Oh, by the way she is now back to normal…and how great is it to be a dog?? No stretch marks!! Poor babies..IT does clear up soon after though:) Good luck!

My Daisy loves to lay on the black top driveway and sun herself. All summer long she has a black belly, does yours lay on blacktop? I am sure your Penni will be fine no matter what it is!!
