I almost lost my Ali from Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. In plain language Bloody Diarrhea. I had a long post about it when it happened. You can lose a dog in 24 hours from dehydration if not treated. Watch for anymore bleeding, nausea or vomiting, his gums should be pink and wet. Sticky pale gums can indicate dehydration. This is most common in Poodles, Schnauzers and Dachsies. Ali was in the hospital 3 days and 2 nights on IV fluids. Just a warning. I awoke to pudding and blood all over the house on beige carpet. There was no mistaking the blood. They diagnose it primarily from history and a blood count or PCC. Just to let you know. I have had dachsies for 20 years and had never heard of this. Good luck and out thoughts are with you.
