Spanky says a big hello to all the HDB
I have been in a whirlwind of excitement for the past weeks. I am blessed to have witnessed my parents 50th anniversary
Jubilee at Saint Peters in Chains in Cincinnati followed by a dinner at a fantastic German Restaurant (it’s Bock Beer season ya know) I got to sit at the big persons table!!!!!! The same day the Kentucky Derby ran and I lost my $2.00… My sister and I
met my parents the following week to rent a hall for the 50th Anniversary party that will take place in September.
The next week King Wiener came home from college and brought his gal pal Miss Brittney (a gem) we had loads of fun playing
Wii until the wee hours of the morning. We gorged on Chinese food the first night and Beer-Butt chicken with homemade Mac and cheese the next. It’s hard for me to think of my baby Kyle with a “girl friend” but she is a wonderful, funny young lady.
The Same week my friend Gail lost her hubby to cancer. they were married for quite some time (I don’t know exactly how many) He had a battle for the past 6 years with cancer
but they had a wonderful extra 6 years and God was good. I watched their wiener doggy Nellie while my friend Gail made prep and
attended the funeral. Her husband Howard was a well known man . The kind of guy everyone would want for a friend. He was a
brave man that held on to the end. I love both of them so and little Nellie had a ball with Princess Mudflap and Peanut. Gave Gail a good feeling that lil Nellie was being spoiled rotten in her time of need.
When Howard was in the Hospital a couple years ago many of you might remember I kept Nellie for a month. Prayers to Gail and
her loved ones. I don’t feel sorrow I feel happiness that they had those final years together without much pain.
My friend David, who is graduating from college (Manchester) is now going on to Vet School on the Isle of St. Kitts (Ross University) and the party for him is over the Memorial w/e. He is such a determined guy I wish him all the luck in the world. David has worked for Doc and Spanky for the past 5 years. We have fixed many of prolapses , dehorning, castrating. C-Sects, spays, neuters, wounds, and abscesses under our belts. I know he will make the best vet in the USA.
Now the ultimate sad news……Spanky will have a birthday May 31 and will be old old old old old at 30 or is it 31???? She is not sure.
