Looks like you might have a dominant male on your hands. I'm sure it will stop once they have worked out the hierarchy amongst themselves.

I'm not sure if this is a doxie thing, but my female lady went through a stage of peeing in her bed when I wasn't paying enough attention to her! One day I caught her gave her a big ‘NO!’ and put her straight outside. She seemed to realize this was very bad behavior and hasn’t done it since!

I thought that may have been what he was doing but wasn't sure considering he is so young. (I thought they didn't do that till they were at least a little older :)!) And yes, these are my first doxies. We have always owned other kinds of dogs-mostly good ol' mutt pups- but never a doxie until we got sweetie. Dontcha love their personality!!! Thank you again for your help, hopefully you are right and once we get him nuetered he will stop! Stacy

Congrats on your new addition!

I agree with Regina.
Your new pup is just being a dog and putting his scent on everything by trying to cover Sweetie's scent with his.

He may outgrow this especially once he is neutered.

Hopefully, other members with multiple dogs, who have had the same problem can enlighten you on how to keep it from happening.

Hi Stacy! First of all, congratulations on your new puppy, how adorable!I can´t wait to see pics! I think he´s peeing because he´s marking his territory, trying to prove who the alfa male is! Now, I cant be sure about this but a lot of the other members have tons of experience and knowledge. I wish I could help you out a bit more! I can recommend a good book though (I don´t know if these are your first doxies?) called "Dachshunds for Dummies" which you can probably get at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com. Good luck!!
