When given lemons make lemonade…
I have never been one to believe in the saying “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” but I find myself trying very hard to do this. We currently have 4 fur babies 2 cats and 2 dogs which includes our mini Gunner. Saturday morning my husband noticed that we hadn’t seen one of our cats in awhile. She recently discovered that she could use the doggy door. Which you can probably guess that as of today (Sunday night) she is missing. The other cat we don’t think is eating and the dogs definitely know something is wrong. They normally don’t follow us but recently Gunner has been riding our feet and tries very hard to be right near us. I think he knows that something is amiss because the cat that is missing was the only one who actually played with him. Well we went to the local shelter today to make sure that she hadn’t been picked up as a stray and saw a beautiful black and tan mini who was a stray and scared to death in his concrete cage. My husband said should we see if we can adopt him? I thought about it and if we don’t find our cat I think we may rescue him from that place. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse (my husband and I are very attached to our animals, they are our reason for not having kids at the moment) my husband car broke down in our driveway. What we were hoping was a cheap fix turns out to probably be a 700+ fix. So a lost cat and a 700+ car repair bill makes a lazy weekend a very long and emotional weekend.

I’m very sorry about your cat. We just went through that a few months ago and I know all about that car repair thing as well. We have one sitting in our driveway to. Do as you said and try to make the lemonaid. It’s okay to still have a sour face with your lemonaid as we all know it can still be tart but go ahead and try to adopt the poor little guy from the shelter as it might add a little sugar to your lemonaid and make it a little sweeter, for you and the doxie. I will be hoping for better days for you soon.

Were you guys ever handed a HUGE basket of lemons! I will pray to Saint Francis that you kitty finds her way home. Our kitty loves to wander but comes home every night if I have to call for her for 1/2 an hour.
I was thinking about getting a dog door but probably won’t now.
SO sorry about the car too - that just plain stinks!
Keep us posted on the doxie boy - he sounds like he needs a new loving home like yours.

How horrible for you and hubby. I hope your luck changes. Perhaps your cat will come home and you
can adopt that pup too. Now that would sure bring a smile.
