My ohhh my what a weekend we had!!!!
Mean Mommy is writing this blog for the FAB Doxhoonts because they are still exhausted from the very very exciting weekend we’ve had.
It started early on Friday morning when Mr. Larry our across the busy street neighbor brought over not only his slobbery gal Betty but also their houseguest Memmo! He’s a min pin and is a bundle of energy! (Personally I think his owner should find a way to harness that energy - he could probably power all of Manhattan!) Then later in the day, Mr. Larry brought Memmo over to play while he and I weeded and prepared the Veggie garden for planting. Memmo even wore out BABY FREDDIE and that’s saying a lot.
We all napped for about an hour or so and then went out for playgroup. Mr. Larry brought Betty and Memmo again and Lily and Uncle Bob were there too. Miss Raquel then showed up with Mr. Belvedere and Miss Georgia with Scrappy. It was fun fun fun!!! Then we “crashed” and slept like only dachshunds can until Saturday morning.
We repeated the exiciting day on Saturday with the addition of our old puppy friend Beemer in the morning and Mr. Belvedere & Scrappy in the afternoon. In between, Mean Mommy had to work ’cause Pinky said she couldn’t come in to work and no one else could cover for her. (Annabel and her brothers have vowed to growl at Pinky next Saturday ’cause she made mommy work!) While she thinks we don’t know, WE DO KNOW that Mean Mommy snuck off across the busy street to have dinner with Larry & Drew & Uncle Bob and some other friends. She got home pretty late and had the fragrance of Betty and Memmo on her - BUSTED!!!
You have much to learn still Grasshopper! Wise Doxie Beemer showing Freddie the ropes.
Sunday early evening on the lawn.
Sunday was pretty quiet - we needed some rest but Mommy had to go on errands (the hoonts MUST have their doggie food don’t you know!) Mommy went to bed early and the hoonts tried really hard to stay sleeping late the next morning but NO! Annabel needed to go o-u-t at 5:15 a.m. and Freddie heard the commotion and expressed his need to GET OUT too! Mean Mommy started “puttering” in the mini-yard outside the kitchen and next thing she knew it was 6:30 and almost time for DOGGIE PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Monday morning was our last playdate with Memmo and Beemer dragged Miss Lena here too. Then Mean Mommy really started puttering around the kitchen getting ready for a BIG party. Not Memorial Day but the first birthday of Freddie’s baby pal Michael! Very nice doggie loving people came for a pic-a-nic, even Auntie Onnie who we usually only see during the week and her sweetie pie Sterling. We all had a great time and crawled upstairs into bed about 9:30 p.m. after everything was cleared up.
I’m not ONE sillies - it was Baby Michael’s birthday!
Obviously we are still very very tired and thankfully Mother Nature has decided to rain today to give us a really good excuse for sleeping late and napping all day long!
We all hope you had as happy and fun and friend-filled Memorial Day weekend as we did. It was very very busy but ohhh so fun!
Freddie patiently waiting for the cleanup to be over.

Wow how we wish we could have been there. Sami would have probably spoiled all the fun anyway as she is not very nice but I would have loved it and peed everywhere. (I do that when i’m excited you know). I am glad you all had a great weekend. Pictures are great and wonderful to see.
