Well ours are named after German food, not necessarily German names. We have Bratwurst (female) and Saurkraut (male).

Well...... where can I start?
I am Harry (or Heinrich, as my Mum sometimes calls me). My brother is Hugo (Hughie for short), and the pups are Anton and Otto. Our sister is Heather, which translates to 'Erica', but Mum always calls her 'Fraulein' (Miss).

You could have Arno, Bodo, Bruno, Egon, Emil, Felix, Gustav, Hansi, Karl, Kurt, Lenz, Lukas, Max, Oskar, Stefan, Theodor, Uwe, Waldemar.... and that is just for the boys.

Girls could be....Adelheit, Agnes, Beatrix, Dagma,
Elke, Frieda, Gabi, Hannelore, Heidi, Heike, Johanna, Karla, Klaudia, Liesel, Petra, Renate, Sabine, Traudel, Uschi, Wilma.

I am sure that I can come up with more if needed.

I had a Waldi..got her in Germany. I also had a Johann (registered as Johann Sebastian Dackel).
Currently I have an Anna. Fritz or Fritzie is cute. Or Gus, Hermann, Berta, Liesl, Hansi, Nobi(a diminutive of Norbert). Otto, Anton, and if you're into food, Pretzel

My best friend just asked this question and she settled on Hansel and Gretel for her new puppies. I had a Greta, but gave her to my dad for Father's Day last year.

Mica's full name means Little Friend in Italian.
Maybe you could translate that or some other phrase that applies to doxies to German.
I love Dagmar too!

I don't know as many German names as some of the other bloggers BUT .... here are some of my favorites.

Waldi = woody
Schnitzel
Dagmar
Fritz

I LOVE Dagmar for a wirehair girl - some day I will have a Dagmar (well I can hope can't it?)
