Update on niece

Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words-we all really appreciate it! They finally got the results back on her tests and they said she has a hole in her heart and that the muscle on one side of her heart is enlarged causing the high heart rate to be so high. The medicine they are using to control her heart rate is working really well and they said that the enlarged part should go down on its own as she gets older. As far as the hole in her heart they were going to do a few more tests but are hopeful that she won’t have to have surgery for it yet due to her being so young. If everything goes ok with the other tests she should get to come back home soon and only have to be on medication. That’s all we know for now, but at least they know what is wrong and are able to treat it. Not knowing was what had us so worried before. They said since starting the new meds she is comfortable and doing well. When I find out more I will post again. Thank You again from all the family!!

Could there be anything more terrifying than a seriously ill infant just 3 weeks into life? I am relieved to hear that the doctors found what her heart problems. Even though she still has a hard row to hoe knowing the source of the problems this quickly is wonderful news.

I will continue to pray for the little darling. Please keep us updated.

Good news about Chip as well!

So glad that the doctors found the problem and that your niece’s heart should heal itself as she grows.

Laura is right, it is so scary to see such a tiny and helpless baby get sick and not know what is causing it.
It is to her advantage to find this out when she is so young so it can be monitored and treated.

Prayers continue to go out for a complete recovery.

Glad to hear that your sweet Chip is feeling “chipper” now too!

We just got more good news-she is being released from children’s hospital today!! They said that she will have to see a heart specialist closer to here to further evaluate the heart mumur and enlargement but they haven’t said anything about surgery as of now. She will have to be closely monitored and kept as calm as possible so that her heart doesn’t start racing and if it does she will have to be taken to the er. Oh, and she is eating better now that she is on the new meds!
Thank Yall so much for all your prayers!!
And Chipper hasn’t been sick anymore at all and has been eating really great-if only he would figure out my house is not a potty!!:)
