Hi Folks,

I have an almost 13 week old mini black and tan boy named Ralphie and I have a question about him. This morning I woke him up to find a long and thick string of drool coming from his mouth. Later on he was sleeping on my lap and left a puddle on my knee. We have never seen any signs of drooling from him before, so being the worry wart that I am, I am concerned. He was just at the vet two days ago getting his third round of shots so could this have caused this? Should I be worried? Thanks!!

It could be a reaction from his recent shots, but I would call your vet and tell him and see if he thinks Ralphie should come back in for a check.
You can’t be too careful when it comes to such a young pup.

Good luck and let us know how Ralphie does.

Welcome to the HDB BTW too!!
Can’t wait to see some pics of Ralphie when he is feeling better too!

It sounds to me that he might be teething. I do agree with Bette, however, that you should call the vet and ask about a possible shot reaction. Thirteen weeks is a bit young to be teething but one never knows.

    Better safe than sorry!

  4. Comment by Ralphie's Moms:

Well he is doing great now, the drooling was gone by the next day. We did call the vet and the vet said that it could be a side effect of the shots, but as there were no other signs of distress we just kept an eye on him. Hes doing great now, and thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions.
