06/16/08. I went to speak with the surgical team who went over Randolphs MRI. He has one particular spot that is bad in the lower spinal region. Due to the severity they say he has a 5-10% chance of regaining his ability to walk again. I think he deserves the chance to prove how strong he really is! I told them to do the surgery. He will go under Tues morning and I pray all goes well. I met with Dr. Hammond and Dr.Glass. They said he has been in great spirits and keeps up a good apperance. Having been down myself in a wheelchair due to irreversible hip damage I too was told I may never walk again. Now I work amd manage a batteriesplus and work seven days a week. Randolph will be by my sode as he has been for the past several weeks as soon as he gets to come home. I can walk, ride my bike and have even climbed the lighthouse stairs at Barnegat twice up and down. My Randolph was there for me and it is my turn to be there for him.
If any one has experienced this type of surgical procedure with a severly disabled dachsie who is now recovering. let me know what its like and how they are progressing. I am so scared. I know the financial burden is worth it.Even if it means months of recovery. He is my baby and deserves my support. Thank you everyone for all you kind words. They mean so much. I sleep with his blankie and doggie pillow till he comes home. God bless my Randolph. And God bless all the mommies and dadies of 4 legged furries that brighten our lives and sometimes need us more than they can say. Woof woof. and God Bless.
