update on holly and pibby
Hi guys. Well, I have read all of the post to my other blogs. I am aware this could be dangerous and time consuming. Thank you for all your concern. Really. I feel like an idiot sinced it happened and from some of the post I read. As of now, I am still not sure….Holly has her kennel all for herself and I watch her 24/7 right now. She has seemed to gain some weight and I have made her an apt for the vet. I am not working but I do have money set aside in a savings account(due to what I have been recently through) for emergencies. Well, if that means using that money to make sure my Holly Bell gets the care she needs, then so be it. Yes, I have homes for the pups( if it happens) and they are all good homes. Other Dachshund owners. Holly has had NO health problems as of now, her temperment is very laid back. I call her my old maid…lol. She even creeps to me to get in my lap. She is not a very hyper dog. Pibby…..well, yall have been here his whole life just about it.;) He is a very healthy pup also. No problems. He also has a good temperment. He has never snaped or anything, he is possesive of me(he gets jealous over holly) But other then that. Pibby is a little on the hyper side but my vet has told me that he is also still considered a puppy and that is normal. Anyways, just keep me in your prayers……I know it wasnt planned but all of you know that I love my dogs to death, they are my children….I will do anything for them to keep them healthy. I am doing my research and I do have the vet involved, so, please…..dont worry and I will keep you posted, k?.. I am also not planning on working until I know further of Holly’s situation. Also, Kota starts school so it will be just me all day and if i have to play mommy role, I am prepared to do it. Muahs till later!!

from the date of the “tie” until now it is not too late for a spay. If you have money set aside for “emergency” purposes I suggest you get the dog spayed immediately!!!

Melissa, I know that you love your furbabies and want only the best for them. I can tell by the way you talk about them and the pictures you post. Please, reconsider having these puppies. It is still not too late to have Holly spayed. Puppies are messy and a lot of trouble. Spanky is a Vet Tech and she knows what she’s talking about. Please PM her if you want to talk one-to-one with her.

Melissa I am sorry, but NOW is the time to listen to the people here. You are in NO position to bring puppies into this world. I am not a breeder, or a vet, and know very little about vetting dogs, but even I can see that this is WRONG !! I can see by your posts this is NOT a good idea for you. You have stated many times in BLOGS how tough things are for you right now, that you are having trouble taking care of yourself because of health issues and money issues how do you expect to be able to take care of new born puppies? Puppies are a HUGE reasonability and I know you are not ready for it. I think you have done the absolute WRONG thing letting this happen and feel you should take care of it while you still can. If you do not want to get Holly spayed then do the right thing and give her up to someone who knows what they are doing and use the money you have saved to get Pibby neutered !!
PLEASE MELISSA DO THE RIGHT THING !!!!!
I hope this does not get me in trouble it is not meant to start any pot stirring… it is meant to help Holly and Pibby !!

Melissa - Please don’t feel like an “idiot” - accidents happen. I don’t want you to feel like you are being personally “attacked”. Take in all the input, pray and make your decision.

I gree with Ruth.
I think some members have taken a harsh stance with Melissa on this situation, and I think it stems from a situation that happened on another web site which is unfortunate.
Melissa loves her dogs and I am sure she will think about all her options and do what she feels is best for her and for Holly and Pibby.
No one should chastize her until they have walked in her shoes.
Making her feel bad for what happened does not help anything.
We need to support her, no matter what decision she makes as there are good resources here on the HDB who have offered their experience and assistance.
We need to let Melissa take it from here.

With all due respect to you Bette… this has NOTHING to do with “what happened on another site”. This has to due with clear thinking adults (ME & a few smart others) thinking that Melissa who has too many problems to say thank you, and NOT for a new dog colar or a free meal, but for a way out of a life that we were lead to believe was a terrible situation ! She was given a plane ticket worth hundreds of dollars, from a wonderful caring person who has never even recieved a proper thank you !! Now we are suposed to believe this girl is capable of bringing puppies into this world and providing prenatial care. This girl has a admittedly No job, NO home, is living with her exhusband who she had to sign guardianship of her son over to.
“THIS STEMS FROM WHAT HAPPENED ON ANOTHER SITE” I THINK NOT !!! THIS STEMS FROM MY PERSONAL CARE AND CONSERN FOR THOSE DOGS AND THE FUTURE PUPPIES NOTHING ELSE !!!!!

Hmmmm, Lisa, I never mentioned any names, but your angry retort makes you sound pretty guilty.
I also do not appreciate you bringing up other people’s personal information and problems, of which you have no right or business to do so regardless of what you think of the situation.
If you are so concernced for the personal care of her dogs and these puppies, of which we aren’t even sure Holly is pregnant, than why don’t you offer a helping hand instead of a slap in the face?
What you just posted is just plain insensitive and WRONG!!!

I am not fighting this out with you on this site I have more respect for the members of this site than that. I will agree to disagree with you, but fact are facts and you can’t change the facts ! The facts I have stated here she posted for the world to see on her my space, which she has even given the link to members here !! So I am NOT airing anyones secrets !! I would not do that !!
By the way I feel guilty about NOTHING !! I am not even sure what I am suposed to feel guilty about, I have done NOTHING wrong !! All my dogs are spay and neutered !!
By the way I tried to get her help but I got called a pot stirer !!

My final word on this is that I just find it a bit odd Lisa that you have not lashed out at or posted personal information (regardless if it is on MySpace) on other HDB members who have posted that their dogs may have accidently “tied” before they could be neutered, and there have been a few, even recently.
Shouldn’t you be treating everyone the same?

I haven’t been on the HDB in a very long time, the mean spirted treatment of fellow members was not what I became a member of the HDB for so I have stayed away. Today I decided to log on one more time and read this blog. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked, but I am. Melissa has already stated that SHOULD there be puppies she has good, quality homes for them. Why would you promote killing an innocent litter of puppies, they are not going to be left to the elements with no one to care for or love them. Both parents are healthy and these babies, should there be babies, will bring love to someone’s life. I totally agree with Ruth and Bette and wish all members could be treated with compassion rather than anger.

I agree with you about if both parents are healthy and the babies are supposed to have loving homes but there is alot of back story to this one.

I have been out of town for the past 4 days and had no idea of this ranker and bickering. Melissa, I am so sorry if I have offended you. I just wanted to help. Now that you know that Holly isn’t pregnant, everyone can get back to “normal”, whatever that is. Please think again and stay on the blog. I, for one, love hearing from you and really look forward to seeing pics of Pibby and Holly.
