Houndy is dying - prayers needed …
Tags:No tags
My hound mix, Feisty Ann, is dying per the vet. Had a mild stroke not long ago, but has a number things wrong. Now liver values are over 800 and are supposed to be about 100. I think she wanted to put her down then, but I needed more time to say godbye and come to grips. Her time is very short. I pray God takes the decision from my hands, but I don’t think he will. Please pray that I am strong enough to make the decision. I’m all alone in this. Ruth McD and Daisy

Ohh Ruth, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you. We’ll pray for her and for you in this terrible time. Comfort yourself in the knowledge that she will be where all dogs play for eternity - across the Rainbow Bridge.
“…Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware, of giving your heart to a dog to tear.” -Rudyard Kipling
Kipling sure knew what he was talking about.
Hugs and warm thoughts heading your way.

Dear Ruth,
I am so sorry to hear about Feisty Ann. You will do what you feel is right for you and for her. Your love for her is strong and she knows this and draws comfort from it. Laura’s quote is so very true. If I can help please contact me, I was going to call you but your info isn’t in the old members book that I have. I am keeping you and Feisty Ann in my prayers Ruth and sending you a long distance hug.

I am so sorry to hear about you beloved dog. My husband and I just went through it in April with our dear 10 year old English Springer Spaniel who had squamous cell carcinoma in his throat. Making the decision to let him go was one of the most difficult things I have ever done, but we knew when it was time. Just be there for her and hold her and know that she is trusting you to do what is best for her. Tears are flowing as I type this….prayers for both of you.

THE ETERNAL WHISTLER
Author unknown
It is the Eternal Whistler
Who goes whistling through the sky;
And at his heels run the weary dogs
Who have come to him to die.
He whistles them over the far-off clouds
And up to the shining gate,
And then he whistles a different tune,
And they sit, and they pant, and they wait.
Then he whistles a sudden, piercing note,
And s-l-o-w-l-y the gate swings wide,
And when nobody’s looking… Saint Peter winks…
And hustles them all inside.

So sorry that you are going through this by yourself. I will pray for you both.
